Vehicle Detail
1957 Chevy Bel Air You are looking at a 57 Chevy Bel Air 4dr. The car is in realy nice original condition. From the info I have got from one of the previous owners is that the car was bought from a lady in florida then went to Indiana, then to NY and was never really driven. It sat in the garage most all of the time. This would explain why it is such nice shape for its age. The rear quarters and wheel wells are very solid. Rockers are solid, doors are very solid. Hood lip and trunk lid are very solid. Front fenders are solid but have some glass in them at the bottom and at the top of the wheel well. The doors are very solid and shut like a brand new....you just have to push them closed with ease. The frame, floors and trunk floor are all rock solid. The spare tire well is solid! The body mounts are solid. The floor braces are rusted as they usually are in these cars. The floors have no holes or patches in them, they are very solid and the car was origionally undercoated from the factory. All the chrome is there and in good driver quality condition. Stainless is in very good shape with a some dings here and there. The drivers door glass has a crack in it and the windshield has a stone chip in it, not bad at all just want to mention it. Otherwise, the glass is good and all the windows funtion properly. I believe the glass is factory tinted because they all say E-Z-eye safety plate on them and you can tell they have a slight tint to them. The car was painted the original color (tropical turquoise) quite some time ago. When i bought the car the paint was dull and had like a film on it, so I buffed it all out and now it shines great! There are chips and blemishes in the paint, but overall it is perfect driver/cruise night quality. The interior is original. The front seat has a split in the seam as does the back. The back seat has the same colors and pattern but is different. Look at pics. Not sure if it was a factory error or someone replaced the back seat. Everything else appears to be original. Door panels are in good condtion. Headliner is in great shape with no holes but a few stains. The rug is in great shape with no rips. The dash is in great shape. Everything works as it should except the amp meter. All the lights, high and low beam, signals, horn, wipers, gas gauge, all in working order. There are also 2 speakers mounted in the rear shelf. Aftermarket CD/radio is installed under the dash and sounds good. There is an original Spare tire but no jack. The drivetrain was believed to be the original but according to the numbers on it they tell it's a '58 283. It has a remanufactured 2bbl carb. newer alternator, Duel exhaust with glasspacks, and sounds great. A quick puff of smoke sometimes on the first start up, but thats all. Engine had all new gaskets put on a few years ago. Automatic transmission was rebuilt not too long ago and works great. New gas tank and sending unit also. She runs and drives great! The car goes down the road so nicely. The suspension is nice and tight and does not pull or wander. Brakes are new and car does not pull when brakes are applied. She even drives smoothly cruising at 55 down the thruway. My family and I drive the car to a lot of cruise nights and enjoy the heck out of it! Although the car is not a mint show car...it is very nice and great joy to drive! Only reason I am selling is to fund a custom led sled i want to build. The fine print: The car is sold in as is where is condition with no warranties or guarantees. Buyer must pay cash in full before the car and title leaves property. Car must be paid in full within 1 week of auctions end unless other arrangements have been made with me prior to ending. Buyer is responsible for shipping. If you can, please come and look at the car before bidding. If that is not possible, please ask any and all questions before bidding. Your winning bid is not a chance to negotiate. PLEASE....serious buyers only! US only! On Sep-09-11 at 03:10:44 PDT, seller added the following information: May do a trade for a 2004 or newer Dodge Durango.
