Vehicle Detail

Here is an Olds 442 that was built in the Fremont, Ca. factory. I have owned the car for 9 years and have enjoyed it very much. It is in above average unrestored driver condition. It is a numbers matching U code 455cid car. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and has about 10k miles on it, and I had the transmission completely over hauled earlier this year. Factory build sheet options include: W25 Ram Air Hood W26 Hurst Dual Gate Shifter W29 442 Package L75 455 cid 4bbl. Engine JL2 Power Disc Brakes G80 Limited Slip Differential (posi) G91 3.23 Gear Ratio FE2 Suspension Package I have replaced some of the parts on the car with items from "The Parts Place" or purchased here on Ebay. Items that I have replaced on the car since I've had it include: Exhaust manifolds Horn button Throttle cable Hood locks All of the lights function properly (side marker, dome, turn signals, glove box, console, dimmer etc.). The paint job is about 10 years old, and is showing it's age. It was repainted by the previous owner, and the original colors were bronze (code 63, 63, JBK-X) with black stripes. The car is virtually rust free, with some surface rust just starting to show on the quarters inside the trunk and some minor paint blistering about 3 inches long on the bottom driver's side edge of the trunk lid. Frame, trunk, floor pans, fenders, quarter panels, etc. are all solid. All the weatherstripping is in good condition with the exception of the trunk weatherstripping which needs to be replaced. The interior is in very good shape. The dash is uncracked and has had a custom cover on it since I've owned it. The carpet is in good condition. The dual gate door funtions properly. The only flaws are some missing buttons on the upholstery, sun damage to the vinyl between the package tray and rear seat, and a small tear (1/2"long) in the headliner above the driver's seat. Modifications to the car have been done in a way that allows them to be easily removed/replaced without causing any harm. They include: Non funtioning ram air door was removed from the top on the air breather assembly. A Ford/AMC type solenoid was installed so only one cable was needed to reach the starter. Correct type spoiler wing was added to the trunk lid, it already had heavy duty springs and stays open without being held. Aftermarket wheels and tires along with air shocks were added to give it that '70's muscle car accent look. Non-original but date correct Rochester Quadrajet carburetor with electric choke is installed. Real sheepskin (very soft and plush) seat covers on the front seats. Tachometer mounted on steering column with zip ties, CD player and gauges mounted under dash similar to the way the 8 track decks were. Subwoofer/amp in the trunk is not bolted in, it is held in place with bungee cords. If you have any questions about this car, use the "Ask a Question" link. I will answer all questions as honestly and thoroughly as I can. The car has matching aluminum slotted mags on it now. It also comes with (5) unrestored 14"x7" SSII rims that are in good driver condition. Four of the rims are complete with trim rings, bezels, and bolt on centercaps. The fifth rim is a spare bare steel wheel. This car starts, runs and drives perfectly and I wouldn't think twice about driving it from coast to coast. It has recently passed Missouri state saftey inspection. I have babied the car since I've owned it, and only driven it on nice sunny days. For as nice of condition as it is in without being restored, I know the previous owners also babied it. It is great as a driver now, and would make an above average candidate for restoration.
