Vehicle Detail

1989 Ramcharger. Runs and drives great. Used as daily driver. Professionally rebuilt 5.9L fuel injected engine. This truck has been meticulously maintained since I bought it 5 years ago for the purpose of deer hunting. Since I moved to suburbia in 2008, I have used it to pull my 25’ boat, jet ski, and trailer. Everyone who has ever driven this truck absolutely loves it and I hate to lose it. I always say that no one sells a perfectly good vehicle and here I am doing just that. The absolute only reason why I am selling this truck is because I am getting re-stationed and I can’t take multiple vehicles with me. Odometer currently reads 54,000 (5 digit). My guess is there are 154,000 miles on the chassis. However, the engine was rebuilt by Jacob’s Automotive in Roberta GA in 2005. I have over $6,800 in upgrades, repairs, and parts for this truck. I am an ASE certified technician and I have done a lot of work on the truck myself. Truck has 33” A/T tires, true dual exhaust with cherry bomb style mufflers. There are no catalytic converters on this truck and it sounds like thunder at an idle. All functions of the truck work great, this includes the shift on the go four wheel drive (engages pneumatically), power steering, power windows, power locks, cruise control, CD Player, additional speakers behind bucket seats, rear pop up vent (does not leak), full size spare tire, and receiving hitch. The rear hatch opens upward with gas cylinder assist. I can’t stand loose steering so I have replaced almost every wearable part of the steering system with the exception of the steering gear (which I adjusted to factory tolerances). I also added a heavy duty steering dampener. I have also replaced most parts of the brake system to include all pads, shoes, discs, and all springs and hardware in the back. Drums were still within tolerance when I did the brake system overhaul so they were not replaced and calipers worked great with no binding. Emergency brake is adjusted correctly and works great. All wheel bearings have been replaced and repacked. All parts of the cooling system are replaced to include radiator, upper and lower hoses, thermostat, fan clutch, cap, water pump, and I installed a downstream temp sensor to monitor thermostat operation. In 2007 I converted the R12 to 134a which I somewhat regret. The air conditioning works and has not leaked in 4 years but the heat capacitance of 134a is simply not as good as R12 and the air does not get as cold as I would like. Low side, high side pressures are as they should be. During the conversion I replaced all parts of the a/c system with the exception of the condenser and evaporator core which were flushed. Heater works great. With the exception of a small valve cover leak which has never dripped on the ground, this truck leaks nothing and burns nothing other than gas. Runs on 87 octane and has a 30 gallon tank. Factory instrument cluster works except oil pressure and ammeter are inop. Instead I have an aftermarket voltmeter, oil pressure and downstream temp sensor built into the dash. I will let the pictures speak for the condition of the interior and exterior. I would describe both as fair condition. Seats are a little faded, scratches on the dash. Truck comes with floor mats but I removed them for pictures. I will note that there is an aftermarket ram head on hood with LED eyes, scratches on the paint, clear coat is peeling off, dent in left panel just behind door. Dent does not affect door jam and is purely cosmetic. Rear bumper has a dent and stickers applied by a previous owner. Body is rust free with the exception of a bubble on the right rear quarter panel. Front window was cracked about 6 months ago and has not spread since. I have used this truck as my daily driver and I have taken it on several 1,000 mile road trips. A little noisy but rides great and has cruise control. Comes with factory original owners manual, 1000 cranking amp battery, and a K&N air filter. Rear seat folds up to make a covered pickup truck bed and can be completely removed or turned around to face the rear in about 3 minutes if you go to drive in movies. This truck has tons of torque. I wish that I could give more details on the engine rebuild but it was completed before I bought the truck. I do have the reciept for over $600 of machine work done to the engine during rebuild and a full engine kit was purchased. **Attention**Buyer is responsibly for pick up of the truck. Only acceptable methods of payment are cash, cashier's/official check, or money order. I will not release title without money in hand.
