Vehicle Detail

I am a private owner and collector of unique and hard to find special interest cars and am offering this rustfree, survivor quality 1973 Javelin from my collection. The car spent a majority of its life in Phoenix, Arizona and was very well maintained and cared for. It has been driven sparingly during the summer the past 24 years to car shows and cruise events and stored during the winter months. The car has an incredibly straight and 100% rust free body including the super clean underside, trunk, engine compartment and all other critical body areas. The overall appearance is very striking with its correct Fairway Green metallic paint, white rally side stripe with vinyl roof, and spoilers front and rear. The car runs, drives and handles very tight and strong and always gets compliments when driven to cruises or car shows. The original mileage on the car is 56,300 with receipt history to show. I will list the features and options and any upgrades to the car below. Optional equipment and upgrades: Originally ordered with a P-code 360 4V which was upgraded to a 401 short block by the previous owner for improved performance. The original heads and intake manifold are retained and it has the correct Autolite 4100 carb. The engine was professionally rebuilt from the bottom up with receipts included and has been driven about 8000 miles. The engine compartment has a very stock and original looking appearance including the air cleaner, carb, intake manifold, valve covers with metal id tag, distributor, and exhaust manifolds. Also has a custom bent full stainless steel exhaust with polished tips which look and sound fantastic. It performs very well and runs strong like a 401 should. Its well equipped with power steering, power front disk brakes, Twin Grip axle with 3.54 gears, full length center console with horseshoe shifter, working factory AM radio, High Back bucket seats with correct cloth inserts, 3-spoke sports steering wheel, 14" Rally wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires,Tinted glass, remote drivers side mirror, day night mirror, inside hood release, half vinyl roof, rally side stripes, working clock, front chin spoiler, and rear AMX style spoiler. The original drivers door vin sticker and data plate are in excellent shape and have the following ID #'s: Body 014555, Model 7379-7, Trim 344R, Paint E3 and last numbers on the bottom of data plate are, W 014662. I do have the original owners manual, consumer information booklet and a file of maintainence receipts dating back to the mid 70's. The interior is in excellent condition and shows very well overall. All the gages, wiper, horn, radio, clock and electrical components work well. The dash pad has no cracks. The seats look excellent and virtually no wear showing other than a pencil eraser size hole on the driver bolster which is not distracting. All 4 seat belts and retractors work well. The headliner is in excellent shape with no issues showing. The door panels are clean and have no cracks. The carpet is very nice and clean with little wear showing. The console looks good, however, the storage lid cover is warped and the lock is broken. There is a crack in the rear passenger quarter trim plastic by the coat hook, one over the steeering column plastic panel( have an extra one to include) and one below the front passenger grab handle. These flaws are not readily noticeable and detract little from an overall clean, correct and original looking interior. The exterior has a beautiful overall look with very nice and straight body panel fit and closure. The car was professionally repainted one time in the correct original Fairway green color and has a very nice shine. The contrasting white rally stripes were replaced at the time and still look very good with some nicks and flaws showing. The stainless trim and Javelin badges are very nice. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition with no rust or dents. The front grill has no cracks and looks excellent. The only issue on the body is a small, shallow dent and touch up spot on the center of the hood which could be removed using a ding repair specialist but never looked one up. Overall, a great looking, driving and performing 1973 AMC Javelin which is a pleasure to take to car shows, club events and cruises with pride and confidence. Winning bidder to contact me within 24 hours of auction end date and a non-refundable deposit of $350 is due within 48 hours of auction's close. The remaining balance is due within 5 days of auction ending. The car is being sold as described and in as is condition with no warrantee or guarantee implied. As the winning bidder you will have purchased the car, not the option to decide later if you want the car inspected. I encourage you to ask questions or for additional pictures prior to bidding. Thank you for looking. On Aug-19-11 at 06:28:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Wanted to make mention that the brakes are power drums all around, not front disc as I noted in the ad. My apology for the mistake. On Aug-20-11 at 10:38:41 PDT, seller added the following information: The carburetor is the Autolite model # 4300 which is correct for the 401. I stated model 4100 in the ad which was a typo.
