GREAT PROJECT TRUCK GREAT PRICE.. 1983 FORD F-350 PICKUP WITH 6.9 L V8 DIESEL ENGINE Up for bid is a 1983 Ford F-350 Diesel Pickup. Here is a little history on the truck. ..My Dad purchased this truck new in 1983 and had it set up to pull a 35 foot 5th wheel trailer....I do remember he had the rear end ratio changed out when it was new so that the truck could pull the trailer with more torque...I really do not remember what the rear end standard ratio was for the truck??? Anyway after he passed away in 2000 I aquired the truck....I used it a few times a month until last year when I parked the truck due to the condition of the tires...I have had the truck registered every year. It is currently registered with new 2012 tags, and It has always been registered. So you are all set there. I never had to smog the vehicle due to it's diesel engine...Not sure if the law has changed for anyone that might want to purchase this truck, so please do some research with your local DMV. I am selling the truck as a project truck. It will be sold AS IS, I will not offer any warranty or returns... Right now the truck needs tires...unless you have a set of tires and rims for this truck you will have to have it towed away on a flatbed tow truck....The truck ran fine as of 2011 which is when the tire condition prevented me from driving it safely, so it was parked....I would start the truck every few weeks and run it....It's batteries are not in the best condition right now but it could be started with a simple jump.......The truck has some minor body damage to the left back where the moulding is missing and there are a few small dents..and dings here and there, but nothing major. (See photo's).....Nothing to major....infact I would say it has a pretty good overall straight body... It has dual gas tanks...There is a trailer brake control running to a plug next to the fifth wheel hitch but it has not been used in in awhile so I unplugged it on the inside cab...The dome light inside the cab is not installed...It is in a box I have it inside the cab...The headliner needs re-gluing..it is not torn...just needs some adhesive.There was cruise control on the truck at one time...Not sure if any of that is still on it...I do have the steering wheel piece that fits on the center steering wheel and has the buttons for the cruse control....Not sure it that will help...The AM, FM CD player works..but the stereo is not original...The trim plate for the radio and center console is off...but I have it..I just did not want to cut it up to fit the current stereo....So left off incase I ever wanted to install a standard ford radio..... The inside cab is still fairly clean..The front window is cracked and the paint is fading and flaking off in many places.. The heater core needs replacing. it is currently unhooked and bypassed...The air conditioner works but now needs recharging....The original starting system has been bypassed and the truck is started by inserting the key and then pushing a button which heats the glowplugs and then you turn the key and start the truck..... The original water temp meter was replaced with a non oem temp meter..(See Photo's) This truck has great pontential...It was always my dream to fix the truck up, but never had the time or cash....So it is going up for sale....Maybe you need parts??
