Vehicle Detail
I am a professional motorcycle mechanic and this bike has been my daily driver for the last three years. When I got the bike it came outfitted with the full Vetter setup (fairing, bags, trunk, crash guards, king queen). I removed the stock exhaust and fabricated a set of nice sport bike duals, I installed a polished set of Lester mags, I made a custom seat which includes a 1/2" gel pad and two tone vinyl, I fabricated in a custom L.E.D. taillight assembly, and added modern sport bike controls and break master cylinder. The hand controls are off of a 600RR and have custom harnesses so that they interface with the stock wiring harness without any cutting of wires. I have installed DYNA ignition coils and wires, DYNA-S ignition module, a K&N air filter, and a set of GL1000 carbs. The list of custom parts goes on and on. I feel that the pictures say more than I can in words. The bike has around 30,000 miles on it, the gauges indicate 19*** but they were replaced by me when the tachometer broke last year. I replaced both gauges so that the fading that is so common on these bikes would match. The bike starts and warms up quickly. This thing runs excellently.I have gone on many long rides and just got back from a trip to Black Hills where I spent three wonderful days touring about on her. From a mechanical standpoint I have no concerns with this machine. In the last 12 months the following service items have been replaced: Timing belts and tensioners, timing belt cover seals, Water pump (factory Honda), new front tire, new rear tire, valve cover seals, new DYNA coils and wires, new DYNA -S ignition, timing cover gasket, thermostat, temperature sender, 7v regulator, front and rear brake pads, fuel line, fuel filter, the list goes on. If anything was questionable it was replaced. Always stored indoors, properly winterized each season. I change the oil every 1000 miles, I change the rear end grease every year, I change coolant yearly and only run silicate free coolant. This bike is in no way in mint condition but mechanically it is up to snuff. As I stated at the beginning of this summary this is my daily driver. There are scratches and fading here and there. There is a scratch caused by a tie down strap on the right timing belt cover(see picture) I have tried my best to represent the bikes overall condition in the photos. If you are looking for a show bike this isn't the bike for you. If you want a really neat, well maintained, fun to ride, unique classic then this is the bike you want Custom Parts: Headlight: Tri Beam H4 replaceable element Hand Controls: Honda CBR 600 F3-F4 Mirrors: Billet Aluminum Bar End Handlebars: Superbike Low Bars Custom Bar Clamps Wheels: Lester Mags 19" Front 16" rear Tires: Dunlop D404 90% Tread Life Front and Rear Brakes: EBC F&R new last year Carbs: GL1100 Air Filter: K&N Polished Points Cover, Intake, Final Drive Cover Exhaust: Custom made 2 into 1 x2 (Upgradeable to Yoshimura bolt on cans) Seat: Custom made, professionally covered, 1/2" gel pad. On Aug-08-11 at 14:12:25 PDT, seller added the following information: RE: Shipping I am able to deliver the machine within 150 miles of Waconia, MN for $1.25 per mile ($75 minimum). I can also assist out of town purchasers who wish to ride the bike home by providing a free ride from Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. I would feel confident riding this bike anywhere. The sound in the video sucks. The video was taken on my cell phone so the speaker distorts when I rev the bike. On Aug-19-11 at 19:31:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question about the one negative feedback I have on my account. I want to set everyone's' mind at ease. I sold the factory exhaust off this bike a few years back. The item was professionally packaged and shipped with insurance. When the item arrived the package looked like it had been drug behind the UPS truck all 900 miles to its destination. Needless to say the exhaust was damaged. I worked with eBay and the seller to resolve the shipping issue however the buyer still gave me negative feedback. I guess I was supposed to conjure a new set of 36 year old exhaust from the ether and hand deliver it in addition to providing a refund. I am a mere mortal. If I were able to conjure rare motorcycle parts from the nether I assure you I would not be selling my motorcycle on eBay. So that is the deal with the one negative feedback since 2002!
