This 1956 Lincoln Premiere convertible is an exceedingly rare automobile. With only slightly over 2,400 built, it is now estimated by knowledgable people that there are less than 100 of these beautiful cars left in the world. This Starmist White Lincoln needs a complete restoration; it is a project car. My original intent was to buy the car and spend as long as it took to restore it. In the meantime I've purchased a 1977 Lincoln Town Coupe and I've simply run out of room - this '56 convertible must go. The car rolls and steers easily. The engine turns freely. I believe the drivetrain is original. It has an excellent windshield (probably worth over $1,000 alone). It has the rare factory on button multi-lube grease system. All the top bows are there. The car will need an interior, air cleaner, glass, floorpan work and complete mechanical re-build. The doors, rocker panels, front fenders, and trunk floor are actually in pretty good shape but remember, this car needs a complete restoration. The car will also go with many, many extra parts including all the side trim shown missing in the pictures and a correct radio. I have an extremely low $4,000 reserve on the car. It should be met easily. These cars when restored, sell for between $100,000 and $150,000 and every year they are increasing in value simply because they are nowhere to be found. I very much want this car to go to someone who has the vision, and the financial backing to properly restore it to its original beauty. Please note that I have a clean Illinois title to this car in my name. Also, be aware that regardless of what the car sells for ultimately, that is the exact cost that will be noted in the Bill of Sale to the new owner. I'll play no "games" on paperwork. Also to be fair to all bidders, I've chosen to NOT end the auction early regardless of an offer. I do believe that all the trim that runs along the side of car are included along with all the convertible top bows.
