Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE!! Up for auction is a 1969 Camaro RS Z28 (clone) restomod that has had a frame off restoration. Virtually everything on this car is new and it is ready to be enjoyed. This car was a great foundation for restoration with solid firewall, rockers, floors, trunk, and pristine frame rails. Details are as follows: Body: The quarter panels, tail panel, passenger outer wheel housing, passenger door skin were replaced due to damage and/or rust. Fenders, hood, header panel, lower valance, and radiator support are new. The body was stripped down to bare metal and sprayed with two coats of epoxy primer for the ultimate durability. The paint is a base coat / clear coat Mercedes magma red (code 586) that has blocked and buffed to a mirror shine. The engine compartment was also painted the same color and the firewall was smoothed for a clean look. Chassis and engine harnesses are tucked away to give a clutter free view of the engine. This color is truly beautiful and the pictures simply don't capture how nice it is. Other new items on the body are marker lights, tail lights, RS door assemblies with DSE door actuators, grill, front bumper, weather stripping, windshield and rear window mouldings, door handles, door locks, door mirror, and trunk lock. Drivetrain: The engine is a rebuilt LS1 all aluminum fuel injected 5.7 liter V8. A brand new BeCool aluminum radiator keeps this engine running at low temps. Hooker full length ceramic coated headers connect the engine to the brand new flowmaster american thunder exhaust. The transmission is a T-56 six speed manual that is used with 50k on it. This T-56 shifts great and is a big improvement over the old muncie four speeds. Rear axle is a standard 10-bolt. The engine runs perfectly and gives this vehicle modern reliability that allows for trouble free trips to wherever you want to go with no hassles of carburated engines and worries about overheating in traffic. Interior: The interior is pristine with all new door panels, door handles, arm rests, window cranks, rear seat covers, headliner, dome light , sun visors and mounting brackets, rear view mirror, Grant steering wheel, and recaro style front bucket seats. The original gauge cluster was replaced with Covans thunder road panel and has all new electric guages. Gauge visibility is excellent. A brand new Gen-IV Vintage Air system controls the interior climate. A/C blows really cold!! Brakes and Suspension The entire brake system was replaced with new lines, master cylinder and booster, as well as front and rear disc brakes. The front brakes are Corvette 13 inch slotted and drilled rotors with big two piston calipers. The rear brakes are 11 inch slotted and drilled rotors with single piston calipers and emergency brake mechanisms. Stopping power is excellent with this setup. The subframe was media blasted and painted chassis black. The front suspension is comprised of new tubular a-arms, lowered coil springs, bilstein shocks, and a 1 1/8 inch sway bar. The rear leafs are hotchkis 3 inch lowering springs and the rear shocks are also bilstein. The ride definitely has a performance feel to it, but it is very comfortable overall. Steering has been upgraded with a new quick ratio IROK steering box. That about covers it. If you'd like to discuss the car via phone, send me your number and I will call you.
