Vehicle Detail
I have a 1989 Ford Mustang convertible for sale. Is a manual transmission Borg Warner T5 5 speed. Has Hurst shifter and quickshifter kit. Has 3.73 rear gears from Ford Racing and composite rear differential clutch kit-also from Ford Racing. Both gears and clutches replaced last summer. Since last summer Ive put less than 100 miles on vehicle. I hardly ever drive the damn thing, which is why Im selling it. Im also moving to Washington DC in February 2012. -Car is painted flat black and is ready for paint or you could keep it- I personally like it and had no intention of painting it. It looks Mad Max-ish and I get compliments wherever I go. It was sanded, prepped, and painted right and you will be able to tell that the moment you see it. -It has true dual exhaust with dual flowmasters, gorgeous stainless steel exhaust pipes, an H-pipe underneath, and Hooker ceramic coated headers (ceramic is peeling a bit though). Has a cold air intake system. Both intake and exhaust flow awesome! -Engine has headers, cold air intake, one step up cam, ported intake plenum, and hi-volume fuel pump from BBK other than that it is stock. I have run a best 1/4 et of 13.9 as the car sits WITH street tires, and I have time slips. Thats pretty decent considering the 2008 Dodge Charger RT with a 375hp hemi ran a best of 14.1 with slicks in Car and Driver magazine. I couldnt hook and couldnt pop the clutch above 1,800 rpm or I would spin the tires but with a pair of slicks you could launch at a higher rpm and melt more time off your et. -Has 17 inch Mustang thrust wheels from a 2005 Mustang GT. Has Nexen 45 series tires with about 5/32 left of tread. Also has brand new rear brake shoes, adjuster and hardware kits, wheel cylinders, and ebrake cables, all new and installed/replaced by me last summer. Rear drums are not new but were machined and painted. Iv'e worked as an automotive mechanic/technician for 13 years, so rest assured it is not a half-a$$ job. Front brakes are good at 8/32 and again, has less than 100 miles on vehicle since last summer. -Transmission was pulled out in December and resealed including the front seal, tailshaft seal and bushing. At that time the clutch pressure plate and disc, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing was replaced. I also replaced the rear main (engine) seal at this time. I also saved all the old parts and the receipts if youd like to keep as spares or see as proof of replacement. -The engine, trans, and rear diff all have full synthetic fluid and the rear diff has friction modifier as well. Engine oil is Redline, trans and rear diff are Ford racing brand. Has a/c compressor but I would use the ac delete pulley kit, goes for a hundred bucks at cj pony parts. - Lower radiator hose and both heater hoses replaced this April, upper radiator hose replaced last summer. Brand new Ford oem radiator cap. Was told by original owner that radiator was replaced about 4 years ago. Also, power steering pump is new and was installed by me last summer. Also has a brand new Ford Motorcraft battery which was bought and replaced by me this February. Ignition cables are Ford Racing, spark plugs are Motorcraft and cap and rotor are Ford and all new. There are no leaks whatsoever in, on, or around this vehicle. Thats one thing I hate most - leaks. I resealed oil pressure sensor in December, as well. You could drive this car to California and back without a problem! Well, youd need an oil change I suppose, but then again with Redline you're supposed to be able to go 5,000 miles inbetween oil changes. -Interior is in really really good shape. Carpet and dash both look great, no cracks or tears. I would probably get different front seat covers though, probably ones that are all black. Has a vintage Mustang chrome and black steering wheel. It was installed by me and done right. Horn button works. I deleted the stereo and speakers because I was going to use it mainly for racing and when I drive it around I like to listen to the engine anyway. All the wiring is marked and right there so will be easy to reinstall a stereo and speakers. They are included in this listing and sale, just not installed in the vehicle. Again, the speakers and cd player are yours and they are included. speakers are Fosgate and cd player is pioneer. Also, I wired up tach and wiring has been done right, I went through it all! There is a switch to turn tach and tach light on or off so you dont get looked at by every cop you pass. -Both side 5.0 badges and front Ford badge are new, put on in February. -If you want perfection you'll probably want to put a new top on it but looks fine at 15 feet. It works perfectly, just cosmetic imperfections. There is some paint overspray in one spot on convertible top and the stitching around the rear window is starting to thread. Personally though, I like the white top. Reminds me of all the "hotrod" convertibles of the 40s. Personally, I wouldnt do anything with it. Because the body is flat black, it may look like a "stealth" if you got a black one though. That would be neat! -Frame underneath has been tied/stiffened, which is what you want on a convertible for better traction and less body flex. -Also included if you want them are the original 3.27 gears, diff clutches, brake parts etc -There is one blemish on the rear bumper and one with a crack on the front bumper/pass side. see pics -I am hosting about 20 high quality pics here --> http://imageshack.us/g/163/dscn0108y.jpg/ Any questions or concerns you can contact me at -------k i n g t u t 9 1 1 @ g m a i l . c o m----- or call at 717 732 2254 or 717 512 7334 Also comes with a brand new set of silver keys from ford with ford logos OE (doors and ignition) and also a Billett 25th anniversary keychain...1989 was Mustangs' 25th anniversary year. I will not ship vehicle. Buyer is responsible for pickup. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 5 days of Auction end.
