Vehicle Detail

We take trades, Please call mark for questions or an appointment to see the car: 386-986-9877 The first time I drove a 3rd Generation RX7 I was hooked. The handling was second to none and the power was great when the rotary works the way it is supposed to. Unfortunatly the Rotary does not have the reliability that most people want, so in comes the LS1 V8. This car has the best of both worlds, incredible handling, sexy styling, lightweight, and the reliable power of a 5.7L Camaro V8. This particular car has had countless time and money poured into it in order to make everything work with no issues, and it shows. Everything is fully functional in this vehicle including: - Cold A/C (Over $2,221.18 in Reciepts to have properly working A/C) - Cruise Control ($257.45 for custom Cruise control) - Power Steering - Functional ABS - All Guages work perfectly The Engine has been rebuilt less than 6,000 miles ago with a total price tag of $5,826.63. The compression is still 10.5:1 and recieved a full dyno tune by Mike Norris for idle and driveability in mind ($395). This is a very safe and reliable tune, the car put down just under 400RWHP as this point. The car has a New 7/8 Wilwood clutch master cylinder and new Chevy slave cylinder. Hinson products were used to fit the monster V8 into place along with Hinson long tube headers into a Corksport Exhaust(Nice throaty tone). Thier are no Cats on the car but they could be installed if nessasary. Parts used in rebuild: - JE Pistons - Oliver Rods - Callies Crank - Thunder Racing cam: 224@0.050", 0.563" lift, on 112 degree centerline - Cloyes double roller timing chain - Manley pushrods (stock length) - titanium retainers - LS6 springs - Centerforce flywheel and clutch set - Clevite CB1663 H1 Connecting Rod Bearings - Clevite MS2199HX Main Bearings - New GM oil pump, Water Pump, head gaskets, Oil pan gasket, Front and rear Crankshaft Seals, Front and rear Cover gaskets, Valley gasket, and knock sensor Seals - heads disassembled, cleaned, inspected, resurfaced, and competition valve job - Block honed and jet washed, and crankshaft balanced The transmission was looked at at this point and said to be in good shape. The Rear end is a 2003 Ford Cobra 8.8” LSD IRS with 3.55 gears and was installed into a cradle from Justin Samberg along with axles from the driveshaft shop, installed new hubs and upgraded bushings. The suspension has been upgraded with Koni adjustable shocks, Peter Ferrel Springs, Full set of Jim LaBreck’s unobtainium delrin bushings, Racing Beat Sway Bars front and rear The car is rolling on CCW 18X10.5" three peice wheels with very new(less than 1,000 miles) Hankook 285/30/18 tires on all four corners. There are no fitment issues what so ever, perfect fitment. Wilwood Superlight big brake kit with brand new Pads have been installed for increased stopping power! The interior is in very nice condition, the gauges have been upgraded with NR White gauge faces and the seats are a two tone leather black with grey inserts which are in excellent shape. Of course the car has a custom shifter to accomadate the Borg Warner six speed trans. Otherwise the interior is very stock, original jack, wrench, and spare are still in place. This car was originally an R1 so there is no sunroof, and the spoiler has been deleted. $902.50 worth of Dynamatting was used to try and quite the cabin while driving. The sound system is simple but effective with a nice head unit and Boston Acoustics speakers. This car has had a fresh repaint at some point in the original Brilliant Black color, and it still shines very nicely. This car was built to be driven and it has, so there are some scratches and minor imperfections, but no Dents and no major dings. I would rate the paint and body at an 8 out of 10. The car looks very nice from 5 feet, but as with any used car if you get very close you can see minor imperfections. The headlights have always been a dull issue with these cars, so they were upgraded with HID Projector Headlights with the stock halogen assembly modified to house HID projectors from Audi TT for stock look with better vision, ballasts mounted behind headlights. These headlights are bright! All regular maintenence has been completed, oil changed with mobile 1, checked the tire pressure, battery is heathy, new plugs, and replaced the O2 sensors. This car is ready to be driven and ready for a new home! So what are the negatives? I have been driving this car for a while now and the only negative that I need to disclose is when the transmission is cold, if you shift fast or forceful into third or fourth it will grind. Once the transmission is warmed up the issue goes away. I have contacted specialists and transmission shops about the issue, they all tell me it sounds like a linkage issue. Well the master and slave have been replaced, transmission flushed, and system bled and it is still there. I am not sure what the issue is but if you shift normally while the trans is cold it doesnt grind, and once warmed up, Perfect. To me it is not an issue but I need to mention it.
