Vehicle Detail

I am the proud second owner of this Award winning , Mint Condition , #s matching 61' 356 convertible ... w/Hardtop ... Ten years ago I purchased this stunning 356 from the family of John Donahue {the original owner} ..John purchased it from Lasher-Niello VW/PORSCHE Sacramento Ca. in 1961....... He had been a PCA member since 1959 and this was his prized possession ..As you can see from the photos and documents he ordered it with all the best upgrades including a factory hardtop , a Super 1600 along with a Blaupunkt stereo , all original .....He also kept every document from the day he ordered the car as you can see in the photos ... the original bill of sale , order form , extra notes on the specific Blaupunkt , he even saved the stamped cashed check that he wrote to purchase the car .. in addition the original owners manual , parts catalogue from 1961 , and all maintenance records and receipts from day one in 1961 ..... he also saved a 1961 Porsche Calendar displaying a different Porsche each month of that year .. which is also in mint condition , When I purchased the car , John had just completed the restoration of the car except for the paint ..... he boxed and labeled every used original item that needed to be replaced including hoses , plugs , filters etc.. along with receipts for all new factory replacement items .... he upgraded the wheels and tires but also kept the original steel wheels which are boxed and labeled along with every other part that has been replaced or upgraded .. it also has all four original hubcaps , original black Ca. license plates , and everything else original to the car ... Unfortunately , John had become ill and was unable to finish the restoration ..... When I purchased the car , I felt completely obligated to finish the restoration to the highest standards possible , knowing the only thing that needed to be done was the paint and rubber seals , I found the best painter possible in Central Oregon , he stripped the car to nothing to only discover the most perfect body ever , zero signs of rust , zero signs of any prior accident , not even a door ding , all gaps were perfect , it could not be any better .... so money that I anticipated going into potential repairs was now used for the best paint job possible .... $12,200 later , the car's paint was finished , ...... Since completion , John would be proud to know that it has one top honors at every showing , including Best Porsche , Best Import , The Sponsors Choice Award.. etc.... It has been offered a high reserve auction opportunity by Gooding & Co. of Pebble Beach .... however .. I would like to open it to all potential buyers and collectors and try ebay first ...... for any further questions feel free to call 541-390-1333
