A guy I know owed me money and could not pay me - instead he offered the bike. The bike was at a bike shop I Delaware and I went to see it. The mechanic told me it will cost about $120 to get it “road ready” as he put it. I agreed to pay him and a week later I picked up the bike. It was starting and I took it for a spin. Everything worked fine. I brought it home and left it in the garage for the winter. Two months ago I wanted to stat it and the battery was dead beyond resurrection. I ordered a new battery and the bike started immediately. I took it for a spin around the block and it was riding like a monster! That’s all I can say about it. Depends on where in NY but I'm about 45 minutes from Brooklyn or 1 hour from the city. The bike is in very good running condition. I'm not a rider myself but I did take it for a spin and it’s very responsive and fast. Personally, motorcycles scare the crap out of me. I guy owed me money in Delaware and I took it as a payment. I'm too old for this kind of bike. I think it will be a great first bike for you but I urge you to drive it (or any other bike) very carefully. Years ago I had the same Suzuki only 1100cc engine and I was young and worry free, I reached 120MPH when I realized it’s was way too dangerous so I sold it. My advise to you is not to buy it but if you do... keep a ton of respect for the bike and road. If you drive safe you should be ok. Don’t go all crazy on it.
