Lately I have driven several. This is the first one that really takes me back. Maybe it's the purr of that gorgeous straight 6 or that magnificent view down the hood as you motor along, but this one really runs the way an E-Type should. I suppose the triple SU's professionally fitted to this one or the manifold back exhaust system or the electronic ignition make this car drive so right. Countless hours have gone into the restoration of this magnificent, timeless, Classic roadster. This XKE has had a total restoration which was finished around 2002 with about 87,000 miles on the clock. The restoration consisted of completly disassembling the entire car, replacing worn parts and refurbishing many of the original parts and reassembling the vehicle again. The original matching numbers engine was torn down to the block and rebuilt from the ground up. New Tri SU carbs manufactured by Burlen are put in place of the dual Strombergs. A brand new Electronic Ignition system was put in place of the points for drivablity and performance, as well as a brand new exhaust system from the headers back. The Valve covers were also replaced with series I for that ultimate polished look. New Champion Wires and Plugs were also utilized. This car runs, drives, and shifts flawlesly and has an excellent power band. I just completed a compression check and the numbers are as follows in PSI (Cold Engine): 1: 169 2: 165 3: 168 4: 163 5: 164 6: 169 The body panels were completly stripped and resprayed with the original Primrose yellow that it came from the factory with. The interior has been completly redone in the original black and looks excellent. All chrome has been redone and is in excellent condition. All weather stripping has been replaced and is in like new condition. All dashboard components, including gauges, switches, lights, and clock, have been refurbished and are in excellent working condition. The chrome wheels have been well taken care of and are near new condition. Everything on this car has about 5,000 miles on it since the resoration and is in working condition, all lights, brakes, suspension, down to the windshield sprayer. The paint is in excellent condition with no scratches, dings, or dents, The paint is a 9 out of 10. There are no rust issues with this car what so ever, and the panel fitment is also excellent. This car comes complete with jack, original Tool kit, owners manual, Jaguar heritage Certificate, boot cover, Knock off hammer, spare, and more! We hold the title free and clear, all this roadster needs is a new home!
