History: This Mazda Miata has been well cared for. Purchased as an anniversary gift the first year they came out, this Miata has been in our family it's whole life. It was a summer car for my aunt and uncle and they sold it to me when I moved to Portland last year. All three of us are non-smokers. It's been a great car but I'm moving to using my bike as my means of transportation and decided it was time to find the Miata a new home. Exterior/Interior condition: Paint- The paint is in good condition, with some minor fading on the side panels, a scratch on the right side behind the door from another car door, one penny-size dent in the hood, and a small tear in the back plastic window. I tried to capture these aspects in the photographs but want to give you as much information as possible. I was quoted that any body shop can replace the plexiglass back window for roughly $90. Interior- The rugs are in great shape and the cloth upholstery on the seats has been well maintained. The car was broken into and they took the stereo and broke the plastic face on the right side of the stereo. It's small but if you look for it you can see the missing piece in the photographs. The current stereo is very simple and plays tapes and the radio so my guess is you'd like to upgrade the current stereo. However, there are speakers installed into the head rests of both the driver and passenger seats so you can hear the music perfectly with the top down or up! Engine- The car has had regular maintenance and oil changes. Although it's a manual transmission it has a cruise control feature that works great. Last August I had our mechanic do a complete review of vehicle, replace any of the seals and belts that needed to be brought up to date, and do a thorough tune up. The following work was done: engine was inspected and tuned, timing belt was replaced, alternator belt was replaced, water pump replaced, replaced front crankshaft seal, replaced both front camshaft seals, replaced timing belt tensioner, replaced timing belt idler, inspected brakes and suggested replacing brakes in the coming year. Front brakes will be done this week so the rear brakes are advised to be watched and done in the coming year. Miata still has 1000 miles left before she needs another oil change and at the last oil change they serviced the manual transmission fluid and the rear differential and replaced the air filter. The tires were also inspected at the last oil change and they are still in great shape and have good tread on them. Extra Features: The car comes with a sports bra, head rest speakers, and cruise control. Any work recommended: nominal crack in the back window, small missing piece in the stereo console, and rear brakes need to be watched.
