Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1991 Dodge Ram 4x4 with the legendary 12 valve Cummins turbo diesel engine. I bought this truck out in Iowa last week. It has a strong 727 automatic transmission and runs great. It has good tires and frame, new windshield, roof visor, gooseneck and 5th wheel hitch adapter, and manual lock out hubs on the front axle. Interior is clean for an old truck and all components work except the a/c and cruise control. Winning buyer can feel confident that they can drive this truck home without issue. Exterior: The body on this truck has rust on nearly every body panel. Lights all work and glass is free of any cracks. Doors open fine but tailgate is bad and has been welded on to prevent it from falling off. I welded it on in such a way that a dremel tool with rotary disk can cut weld off and remove tailgate for replacement. Frame is good condition. Tires would be less than 50 percent but are still very useable. Manual Warn lock out hubs on the front axle, new exhaust with muffler delete. Truck bed has a gooseneck ball and a fifth wheel adapter. Rear bumper on truck will be included in sale if truck sells for over $4200, if not, I have a generic rear truck bumper that will go with the truck. Brand new windshield. Interior: Interior is clean for its age. I bought the truck with bad carpet and had to remove it. Floor is solid. Radio works well, heater and a/c blow but a/c is hot and needs work. Dash lights all work as do the gauges. Speedometer is not working. Power windows do work. Drivetrain: Motor runs great and has no blow by. Motor starts right up and has no issues or odd noises. Transmissions shifts fine . Steering needs work as it feels the steering is a bit sloppy. I have owned numerous Dodge trucks and vans over the years and I believe the problem is in the steering shaft at the universal joint. The part is a $15 fix and can be obtained at the dealership. It is also recommended to put a new seal on the steering gear box as its leaking power steering fluid out the input shaft. 4x4 works great. Brakes stop truck as they should but the rear passenger side brake line has been bypassed and is blocked off by prior owner. Drivetrain: Motor starts up quickly and has no blow by. Does not overheat or have excessive oil leakage. Transmission shifts fine and has no slippage. 4x4 works and has manual Warn lock out hubs on the front axle. Brakes stop the truck fine but rear passenger side brake line has been removed and block off by prior owner. Turbo spools out great, battery and charging system works fine. I am a licensed dealer in Ohio and am required to collect sales tax for the states listed below, not any others. Buyer must show proof of state of residence. Here is the tax breakdown: State Tax Rate Trade-In Allowance Tax Cap Arizona 5.60% Yes California 7.25% No Florida 6.00% Yes Indiana 6.00% Yes Massachusetts 5.00% Yes Michigan 6.00% No South Carolina 6.00% Yes $300.00 Washington 6.50% Yes To determine the lowest tax, make the following computations: The Ohio's "price" of the vehicle should be computed using Ohio laws as you would for any sale of an Ohio resident. The rate of tax to apply is 6 percent. Calculate the other state price (taking into account the above adjustments, such as a trade-in allowance for the purchase of a used car) and apply the rate of tax as listed in the chart above. Collect from the customer the lesser of the two amounts. Sales to residents of any other state not listed in the chart are not subject to Ohio tax, provided the proper affidavit for nonresident sales is completed by the purchases and tendered to the Clerks of Court when application for title is made. Chad McKinneyOn Aug-10-11 at 19:52:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Took a better look at the steering today as it was loose. Turns out the cotter pin had come out of the castle nut on the steering linkage and the nut was loose. I tightened it and replaced the cotter pin, the steering is much much tighter now. As I was underneath the truck doing this I noticed a transmission fluid leak from the secondary transmission fluid cooler. I bypassed it and the leak has basically stopped but still has a very very slight leak. After tightening the steering nut I took the truck for a drive and it feels so much better now.
