Vehicle Detail
1955 Willys Jeep CJ3B I recently purchased this Jeep from a fellow Jeep enthusiast in Oregon, who had been working on it for a couple of years and ran out of time and money. With a new baby on the way, the Jeep had to go. So, I just finished it up doing the following: The body was taken off and painted close to a factory soft yellow. The frame was pressure washed and painted. At that point, new shackles and spring bolts were installed. Has new tires, tubes, on white powder coated 16” rims. Has original 1950s Warn locking hubs. New exhaust system all the way back. Has all complete new brakes (drums, shoes, master cylinder, lines, etc.). Front and rear drivelines were rebuilt. Has all new electrical system (gauges, starter, generator, battery, voltage regulator, and a factory wiring harness, etc. Has a new radiator, hoses, thermostat, housing, etc. New water pump, fuel pump, plugs, plug wires, and tune up. New gas tank, sender, lines. Looks to have had a new clutch installed at some time previously. Has rare 438 gears. Most of these rigs are 488 or 538, so this should be a good cruising rig. It is unusual for both tags to still be on the differentials. Has a new windshield and all new rubber. Wiper arms and wiper blades are new, and the vacuum wiper motors have good compression. At this point, they are not hooked up. I have been able to lay my hands on a fuel pump for vacuum wipers. My sources seem to be back ordered right now, but available for $75. Lots of small stuff like lights, bulbs, switches, hoses, etc. All fluids checked and changed. Runs good, 4-wheel drive works, and goes down the road. Original speedometer shows 58,000 miles, but there is a rebuilt motor tag stamped on the block and the previous owner believes it has less than 15,000 miles on this rebuilt motor. At this point, I am working on installing turn signals and they should be done in next several days. New seat covers. New steering wheel Has rare original nomenclature plate showing Jeep data, serial number, date of delivery number, etc. This tub was 99% rust free, and the tool box has absolutely no rust of any kind! No top – as you just don’t need one in Arizona! With the work that was already done to this Jeep and me finishing it up, it wasn’t built to be a “trailer queen”. It’s a clean, stock rig that has been dismantled and put back on the road to enjoy. I’ve sold 6 early CJ’s on eBay over the past several years – the last one being an M38 in May that went to Canada; and in February an early CJ5 to the East Coast. If you want to discuss this Jeep further, I always enjoying talking Jeep instead of typing Jeep. Feel free to call me with any questions at 503-752-0771. I don't usually do a "But it Now" at time of listing. However, have sold numerous Jeeps that way after it was listed and a buyer was really interested in purchasing it that way.
