Vehicle Detail
This is a 1973 1/2 long wheel base R75/5 Toaster Tank. This bike has not been restored. It even has the original patina. It is so nice that the green paint is still visible on the lower triple tree bolts. The paint still has the signatures of the woman that pin striped it in the factory under the tank and fenders. When you see the pictures, please note the original tool kit and BMW rag! I even have the original bike cover for that period along with a workshop manual that is not pictured. The saddle bags are brand new and the OEM original BMW windshield came out of Germany. The bike does have the chrome bar around the headlight commonly referred to as a Kangaroo catcher. Here is what is not original: The mufflers are MCM aftermarket. The horn is off of a /6 model. The /5 models had a chrome grill on the horn. The tire pump is missing and the rear turn signal bar was brushed silver...not black. Everything else is period correct for this vintage motorcycle. Note the porcelain tank badges and metal turn signal. This bike shows very well. It has a brand new battery and has been recently tuned. The bike runs perfect with no mechanical flaws. The tires have about 1000 miles on them and the cables have been replaced. This bike belongs in a museum or it could be a great addition to someone's collection. I have ridden this bike to vintage shows and it draws significant attention. The motorcycle was originally sold by Marty's Foreign Motors in Torrance, California. I have owned it about 15 years and I am the second owner. I will not end this auction early! The winning bidder is responsible for shipping. Please do not email me to ask what the reserve is, but feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
