Vehicle Detail
Up For Sale is a 1987 Alfa Romeo Graduate and it is a true barn find as yes it was found inside a barn on a farm in rural Georgia. This one has seen some action as it has 126K miles on it but with the right home there are many many more miles left. I apologize for the bad pictures as it is currently in a garage sandwiched between many boxes and a very heavy 4x4. It has been sitting for over 5 years and was running when parked due to a clutch issue. I love the car to death but it is beyond my boyfriend's capacity to fix right now. I will try to tell you anything I know of the car but unfortunately that is not much. I bought it as I have a slight fascination for convertibles. After convincing my other half to drive an hour to see it (it was advertised in the paper) we were hooked and bought it with intentions to restore this Italian beauty to her former stylish form. Well a year later and she continues to sit, and sit, and sit, well you get the picture. The top is new (bought it like that), it has the Ferrari style wheels which I just love and the body is very clean. The only real blemish other than it being very dusty is it has a dent in the front center (pictured) from a very low speed impact with a tractor (the tractor was the aggressor, the Alfa as the story goes was just minding its own business). Seats are in very good shape and the interior looks good though again it is a bit dusty. It has a Alfa Romeo wood shift knob and everything is there. The gas lever and the trunk latch work but have separated from their mounts. Wheels are nice but the tires are dry rotted so they will need to be replaced. We can get it started by spraying fluid into it but it will only catch for a second. I believe the tank was drained and I put in a gallon of gas but it still won't start so maybe it just needs to have a couple more gallons put into it. Dash has some cracks, but overall the interior should clean up nicely as will the whole car. Please email me any questions, I hate to part with her but it's time to give her to someone that will actually restore her rather than just store her as we are doing. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
