Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1991 LSC Special Edition. To begin, the car needs some work and is being sold as-is with no warranty or guarantee. It runs great, and it drives nice, but it leaks brake fluid, and therefore I am selling it as not being road worthy until you repair the brake system. The car has all of its VIN tags, with a straight body aside from some knicks and dings, indicating that the vehicle was never involved in a crash. The paint is shiny all around with the exception of the roof which is oxidized. It is clearly a repaint - driver quality. Someone I know owned this car since the late 1990's. I was with him the day he bought it and it had around 90,000 miles, and he had it repainted when he bought it and put in new struts and shocks back then. He daily drove the car until the mid 2000's and it was a street parked car. When he stopped daily driving it, it was garaged. It is by no means, in show condition, but looks decent. The exterior is decent and so is the interior. The dash has a couple of slight cracks by the radio area (top), but other than that is pretty clean. The seats do not have the typical LSC open in the seats. No rips or major cracks. The exhaust system is upgraded to a louder exhaust, and only has a couple of thousand miles on it. The transmission was rebuilt a few years ago, but has very little mileage on it. It starts up no problem and shifts well. The air suspension is good, but the fronts slowly leak after sitting for a week or two. The car needs a radio, and you need to repair something in the brake system as stated above. It is also missing the front bumper pad. I bought the car last October, and he drove it to my house from Long Island. It was fine when he brought it to me. I let it sit in my driveway over the winter and when I started it up, the brake light was on, and it was low on fluid. When I refill it, it keeps it for a while, and then it leaks out somewhere. It could be a simple line repair or something more complicated. I haven't checked it out. The A/C blew ice cold in October, and now the compressor cycles, so it needs some freon. I believe it was retro-fit to R134A (see fitting in engine pics). It has no rust and will clean up to be a nice driver. The car is not a major project car or a basket case. Its actually much cleaner than most LSC's I see on the road these days. I bought it to use as an occassional driver because I have a few real original collector quality LSC's that I never drive. However, I never used this one either and have no interest in fixing it. The title is in my name and ready for transfer. I will provide a bill of sale and the title when I receive the funds. I would like a copy of the paperwork as proof of ownership transfer. This is not a big dollar sale, so I will accept cash in person. If you must give me a bank check, the vehicle will not leave me for a few days until I have the money. I can go to the bank with you if you are uncomfortable carrying cash. If you know these cars well, you will notice that the car has the silver LSC wheels rather than the charcoal inserts. The charcoal were exclusive to 1991-92 Special Editions, while the silver ones were for 1990 special editions and all regular 1990-92 LSC's and optional replacement for 1991-92 special editions. Before I get any questions as to whether or not it is a real special edition because the wheels are silver, I would like to clear up that it had those wheels but I swapped them with a friend who has a grey 1990 Special Edition who wanted the charcoal. Also, I used the bumper pad on his car, and thats why its missing. Its not missing due to any accident. I believe you can verify the special edition authenticity by the door jam sticker trim code. I also know that the special editions had slip stickers on the bumpers because they were painted and you can see under the repaint that they are there. I saw this car years ago when it was wearing oxidized original paint and I know its a real special edition. I can even show you things on it if you come see it in person to prove it. This car can be viewed in person. Please message me through ebay if you'd like to see it. Overall, its a decent car that needs a little attention. I assume no liabilty with or for the vehicle after it is sold. No foreign bidders.
