Vehicle Detail

1970 Corvette Convertible, original 350, 4 speed with power steering, power brakes, tilt/telecopic wheel and factory optioned hard top. Trim code 400 black and paint code 972 white. Engine stamp is VO602CTD with matching numbers 70S412062 VIN stamp. The car is bascially an original car that has not been messed with showing 84k miles believed to be actual. The interior is all orginal with new carpet. The dash is very nice and the seats and door panels show their age but are still OK for a driver. The glass is very nice. The paint is a combination of the factory lacquer paint and some lacquer repaint over the years. The paint shows being 41 years old. It is the old cracking lacquer. The body has very nice lines and is very soild. No panels have been replace and shows no sign of any major collision repairs. There is one area in the front center were there was some very minor body repairs but no panels replaced or needed. The frame is very nice and shows only surface rust and 41 years of dirt and grease. The engine runs well and does not smoke and the driveline is tight. It has the correct radiator, surge tank, etc. It is a 41 year old car that show no evidence that the motor has been out so it does have leaks The car still has the orginal soft and hard top. The hard top is in great condition. The original soft top is OK but the back window is cracked and really brown. When I purchased the car several years ago the former owner had replaced the master cylinder, brake calipers, lines and rotors, the rear spring, and serviced the rear bearings. He replaced the front shocks ad also put a new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires along with a new fuel pump. He overhauled another carburetor and put it on the car so that is not original. I was not able to get the old one or the ignition shielding. I also have the build sheet for the car. When I drove it home it ran and drove great and I put it directly into storage. We decided to sell the car to help with a building project. When I pulled the car out of storage it fired right up, but the brakes went to the floor. I found brake fluid coming from the rear caliper. I pulled the wheel and found evidence of all new brake lines, rotors and calipers but a seal the calipers leak and I have not repaired them. I was told if you let them set too long this will happen. In a nut, shell this is a very nice complete original numbers matching car that needs a little work to make it very nice driver and has the potential to be a great minor restoration project with very good investment quality as the 1970s are very desirable and this car is very original. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call 402-261-5795. I will answer any of your questions honestly as I don't need the hassle of someone buying the car and getting here and not being satisfied. The car is sold as is. I do travel for work and you may need to leave a message and I will call you back. Thanks for your interest.
