Hello, this is a solid and original firebird that would make an ideal starting point for a project. I purchased it in 1991 from the original owners sister who bought it from her sister when it was less than 1 year old. When I purchased the car I drove it home, had the soft top removed, and had the top sandblasted and primered because there was evidence of corrosion under the top. I drained the fuel and removed the battery and planned on storing it for a short while until I had time to work on it. It is now 20 years later and I never found the time so I changed the oil, put a new fuel pump on and put a battery in it and fired it up. The car runs well and everything seems to work except the a/c which was missing the belt when I got it. The right rear quarter and top are in primer and the rest of the car wears worn out original paint with a few spots of primer and sand through areas as seen. I took pictures of the rust areas which are at the front and back of the right rear wheel opening and at the bottom of the front fender, and the pitting visible on the top from the soft top that was on it. The floors and trunk pan are very solid. The car is as stored dirty and in need of attention and I want anyone interested to have an accurate description so do not hesitate to ask questions or request pictures and I would be happy to show the car to anyone interested. The car is very original including the 400 v-8 but the stereo and rear speakers were replaced a long time ago, the previous owner did have the presence of mind to save the original radio which is with the car. On Jul-28-11 at 17:30:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I am adding some additional information in response to a question, I spent a little more time in the car looking for repairs needed and discovered that the clock in the dash has quit working, the heater fan is not working and the power windows operate but seem to move more slowly than expected. Additionally I found some paperwork in the glove box that may be of interest; a copy of the build sheet, 1972 Pontiac emission control systems manual, 72 consumer information pamphlet, 1972 owners manual operating instructions, 1972 owners manual general information, and 1972 Pontiac new vehicle warranty and policy on owner service. I was told by the lady I bought the car from that she bought it from her sister who was the original owner but the owners name on the new vehicle warranty pamphlet says Frank B. Morrison of Boise Idaho so I wonder about the sister story. Thanks again
