2001 Honda Insight Hybrid. These cars were about the best MPG cars that have been invented and is a real money saver. This car was ordered new locally with all the options, has the desirable 5 speed with a/c and has a rare factory Honda CD player. It starts right up and runs great. I am the second owner and have owned for 2 years now driving it approximately 120 miles per day to and from work (all highway). This car honestly averages around 60 mpg and depending on the wind conditions, I have gotten up to 67 mpg with it. There are people who claim 70+ online with just a few minor changes. It has 101,000 miles currently but will have more when the auction is over as I am still driving it daily. The brakes were recently replaced and the tires are around 50%. The trans shifts smooth with no grinding and the clutch grabs as it should. The A/C blows cold and the heat blows hot. Power windows, locks, keyless entry, and lights all work as they should. Just had a rear wheel bearing replaced and had the car fully inspected by an independent repair shop who found nothing else wrong with it. If you aren't familiar with these cars, you don't want to be the one stuck with replacing the IMA electrical components as they are a big cost. On August 5, 2010, the IMA Battery assembly, motor ECU, battery condition monitor, and motor control module were all replaced by Zimmerman Honda under warranty (would typically cost close to $7000.00. It charges great now and is just like new. I also had an Amsoil bypass filtration system professionally installed with the Amsoil full synthetic 0W-20 oil in it. This boosts your oil capacity to 5.5 quarts (only 2.6 stock) and gives you oil change intervels of 75000 miles while giving far better protection of your motor over stock. This system costs over $300 just in parts alone and looks like it belongs under the hood. This car was coated by Ziebart when new and has NO rust. The exterior is in very good condition with no dents and only a minor sratch here and there that are so small, they don't show up in pictures. The interior is clean and stain free. This car has never been smoked in or hauled pets around. I really do like this car and love the gas savings. My only reason for selling is I am getting a company car. I'm sure I will miss the 60+ mpg savings. This car is in great operating condition and I wouldn't hesitate to get it in and drive anywhere in the country. It will also come with a full set of 4 Firestone Winterforce snow tires. Put them on this car and you can pass the 4x4's on the highway in winter.
