Up for bids is my rare and original #39 1986 Mustang Saleen hatchback. ( this is not a clone,this is the real deal ) included is the original Saleen ID plaque on the ashtray. ( 86-0039 ) This Saleen is #39 out of a total of 74 black ones built, and a total of 190 Saleen hatchbacks built in 1986. This is the best color to have in my opinion.I want to first say that I really hate to sell this car, I have had it for about 10 years and have put a lot of money in to it. I do not have the time or funds to finish the car and it needs to go to someone who has the time and money to put it back together.This was a very nice car to begin with. The original build sheets are still with the car, one is still glued to the passenger floor.This car has always been a nice clean rust free car with no accidents. Check Ebay's vehicle history report.I'm the 3d owner. Here is the Good: Completely repainted in 2001 by Boulevard Ford Lincoln in Georgetown DE. ( engine compartment also painted ) Brand new Saleen graphics applied. Since the repaint the car has never been tagged or driven, it has been stored in our barn since around 2001 right after paint, it needs to be put back together. K-frame has been sandblasted and painted. Brand new Cross drilled rotors and brake pads on front installed. Brand new PST polygraphite bushings installed Brand new Steering rack installed Brand new Koni adjustable shocks installed Brand new Eibach springs ( all 4 ) installed Brand new polyurethane isolators installed Brand new Cervini's fiberglass hood ( re-painted stock hood included) Brand new upper door moldings along top edge of doors installed Brand new carpet still in the box. Brand new rubber door seals in the bags Brand new wiper cowl grill still in the wrapper. Brand new Spec clutch in the box. Tires are good, rare original rims are still with the car and very nice. 5% dark tinted windows all around has helped "save" the interior. I'm the 3d owner, I was told the car was bought new at Winner Ford in Dover De. Clear De. title in my name. Here is the not so good: You are buying the car WITHOUT a engine. ( it does have the T-5 transmission that was in it when i got it and I assume it is the original one to the car, but I do not know how to tell ) it is being sold as a "roller" as is You can build your own powertrain for it. The console,drivers door panel,glove box door,front seats all have to be reinstalled after the carpet is installed, they are out of the car. Seats are back in now. The rear speaker holes are cut in the back hatch area. The new ten year old paint will need to be washed,buffed and detailed from ten years of storage, there is a white scuff on the passenger rear area since being stored. There could be other minor paint scratches etc. from sitting in the barn. The dash pad is faded from the years of sun but no cracks. Does not have the original radio. The car is sold as is where is, as with any 25 year old car. You are welcome to come look at it by apt. only. I can assist in loading the car, the car rolls easy, very light. $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auctions end. I did have someone check the car out in their Saleen book,it's original owner was Don Figgatt and it was built with 85 body pieces,Bliston Shocks,stock shifter & knob and a Kenwood stereo. Thanks .
