Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1980 MGB. I am the original owner and purchased it from Georgetown Motors in Connecticut. It was in the final production run in April, 1980 before MG closed. Always garaged and maintained by professional mechanics. Car has electric overdrive. Many upgrades over the years such as a battery cutoff switch, better (than Lucas) ignition system, battery box installed, upgraded Wheels ( tires have less than 500 Miles), Full size spare, 2 fan cooling system for the radiator, 2010 New Carb, and 2011 points and plugs. Only item not working is the temperature gauge (needs thermal tranmitter included below) This vehicle has three options for driving enjoyment: a California Hardtop, the original convertable top, or a complete tonneau cover. The hardtop and tonneau is in excellent shape but the convertable top is faded and needs some work. The mirrors are unique in that they are the original Talbot/Berlin used by many racers in the Indy 500 at that time. Also, you do not need to take your eyes way off the road as in the original ones. In addition, the bid winner will receive the following items: The Complete Official MGB Workshop Manual, (2) New Sylvania Halogen Headlamps, (2) Original Side Mirrors, (2) Original Floor Mats, (1) New Battery Holdown J Bolts, (2) New Gas Filters, (1) New Hot Air Tube and Clamp, (2) New throttle return Springs, (2) New Wiper Blades, (1) Thermal Transmitter, (2) New Carb Dampers, (1) Oil Filter, (1) Air Filter, (1) 80C Thermostat, and all new spare bulbs: Lucas #281, GLB #273, Lucas #254, #1157, #157x, 57x, GLB #987, and the Original Tool Kit. Some rusting in the trunk (floor surface only), small bubbles by the left side mirror, some rusting on the underside. Last inspection and mechanic tuneup...this morning at 9:00am! Starts right up and runs strong. We are downsizing to a condo (1 car garage) otherwise this vehicle wouldn't be on Ebay. Buyer is responsible for picking up or arranging transport of vehicle. $1000 deposit through Paypal within 48 hours of auction close.
