RELISTED DUE TO EBAY SOFTWARE INADEQUACY: Ebay pulled this auction "automatically" because it had the word "N-O-T" in the title, explaining that this is a 2 liter car rather than a 1.6 liter car. Why they waited until two hours before the action close to accuse me of "keyword spamming" instead of telling me when I first listed it, I have no idea. It had 25+ bids this morning and was up to $6,975. I was looking forward to the bidding race at the end. They said it was beyond their ability to restore the auction as it was. To all former bidders who are able to find this auction, thank you for your patience. Kristian Storli 818-314-9781 _________________________________ This car is a 1968 model year, stock 2002. If you know about these cars, you know how sought after these early ones are, and they don't get much earlier than this. Most people, even a lot of serious BMW enthusiasts are under the misconception that the 2002 started in 1969, but this is a true '68, which features almost all of the traits of the 1600 model apart from the engine. This is also a factory sunroof car, another rare feature on the early cars. I am the third owner of this car and have used it extensively as a daily driver for about three years and it has been quite reliable. The car is stock with original Bosch points ignition and the single Solex carb. This The car was repainted by the last owner in the original Granada Red. The paint is clean and presentable, but not "restoration" quality and there are a few small dings and nicks. Interior is original with the typical cracks in the dash and seat upholstery. The sunroof opens and closes easily by hand, but the cable for the crank mechanism needs to be replaced. I have been living with this limitation, because the headliner was too nice to pull down to access the cable. This is an original California Black Plate car and has NO RUST WHATSOEVER. Although this is a tidy, presentable daily driver, "she" would ideally make a very easy restoration project for someone with a just a little more time, money and space than I can currently treat her to. While these do make great race cars, I would prefer to sell this one to someone who wants to do a nice stock restoration. There are plenty of Turbos and tiis and custom flared fender hot rods out there, but there are not a lot of stock 2002s left, and they are getting fewer and fewer all the time. Serious potential buyers may feel free to call or email with any questions, I am very happy to talk about the car and all of the good and any not so good points. Although I would strongly prefer that the buyer pick up the car, I can assist with shipping at the buyer's expense. I am also willing to drive the car to you within 300 miles if the "buy it now" option is used. I can't believe that people still do that. The door was not locked, so luckily the thieves did not have to break a $200 piece of glass to get their $40 CD player. But they did a slight disservice to the center console. I still have the original radio which comes with the car and I will try to post some pics of the newly disheveled console. Appologies. She needs to live in a proper garage! The car is now parked in a secure location and will remain so until the end of the transaction. Again, please feel free to call with any questions or concerns.
