Vehicle Detail

adgatto Store 1962 M.G. Midget. This is the first year of the new body style. It has the 948cc four cylinder engine with a four speed manual transmission. It has interior door latches and removable side curtains. Significant upgrades have been done. The engine was rebuilt in 1990 and fitted with a high performance cam. The transmission was rebuilt also in 1990 and a new clutch and pressure plate release bearing were installed. There are at most ten thousand miles on the rebuild. A new vinyl convertible top installed in 2002.A new starter motor and solenoid and battery were installed in 2004. The body and frame are in very good condition. I purchased the car in 2006 and had over six thousand dollars worth of upgrades done by M&M Automotive of Rhinebeck LTD. Some of the upgrades include new Sumotomo radial tires. complete suspension rebuild, electronic ignition, front disc brakes, rear drums rebuilt. New fuel pump. Rebuild of both carburators, installation of XKE exhaust system, (sounds great). Steel brake lines and many other significant upgrades. All receipts of work done in 2006 come with vehicle. There is a scrape to the right front fender (minor) and the metal on the left door post is bent (see pictures). The seats are racing type, there is a roll bar and Sparco harnesses. There is a radio/cd player but the speakers have been removed. The dash is a custom wood dash with original gauges. The tach is presently not working. It should be upgraded to an electronic tach. The car starts right up and runs beautifully. The cam makes the smaller engine surprisingly quick. The suspension modifications make the car handle smoothly, with very little of the oversteer associated with British cars of this vintage. Would make an excellent vintage racer or time/distance rally car. Has only been used as a sunday driver by me. It turns a lot of heads. The car has no title but due to age can be transfered with current registration. I have bought a boat and will be busy with that so the M.G. has to go. If you have questions or would like more pictures please email. Good luck and thanks for looking.
