for auction is this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette. It is pretty much original, still has the original 350 V8 it was born with, i checked the numbers on the block today in fact. The car cranks right up and runs great, drives fine, has been sitting for the better part of the last 3 years. It is an easy project car that would make an excellent daily driver as is with a little tinkering. Body: the body on this corvette is fantastic. It has no chipped or broken fiberglass, the body is very straight and nice. the paint still shines great, i think it is the original paint, i was told it is. few minor scratches and marks, not going to win 1st at car shows, but very presentable. The front bumper has a couple very minor spider cracked spots, not nearly as bad as most i see, i just like to be up front. the ttops are painted white and in good shape as well. Drivetrain: the motor is definitely numbers matching and original, odometer shows 71k, i was told this was original miles. transmission shifts fine, brakes are good, etc. it has 4 wheel discs. the front tires were replaced in the last year and are like new, the rears are starting to dry rot some from age and i would replace them before driving daily. wheels are original factory vette wheels and look nice, i do have the center caps as they are not in the pics. the engine cranks after a couple pumps and seems to run fine. after warm, it will fire up instantly and purr. The vacuum headlight doors go up and down fine, and the exhaust was replaced in the last 2 years, looks brand new. it does have a small exhaust leak up by the manifold on the passenger side you can hear it with the hood open. Interior: the inside of the car is pretty much bone stock with the exception of the detachable CD player and speakers behind the seats. the interior is decent especially for the age, and while it could be used as is, it is 32 years old and i would replace the dash cover put in some new carpet, and maybe the seat covers as well. the seats have a couple small tears, nothing terrible looking from a glance. carpet is just old, and starting to come apart in the footwells in a couple places. dash has the one spot you can see in the pics, otherwise good. tilt wheel, steering wheel is fine. speedo appears to be acting up, other gauges i believe all work, including the tach. the passenger side window goes up and down fine, the driver's side was going down, but having trouble coming up. i disconnected it for now it needs a regulator as the teeth are starting to strip from age. This would make an excellent cheap project car that you will be proud to own. You can make this a super nice car, or just cruise in it as is. i would recommend trailering it or transporting it home only because of the back tires, and the fact that it hasn't seen much road use in the last 3-4 years. it does run fine though. You will not find a better original project car for what i have this priced at. i am putting a very low Buy It Now and Reserve so bid to win. Please feel free to ask with any questions.
