Vehicle Detail
1989 MERCEDES BENZ 560 SEL IN GREAT CONDITION!! Thank you for looking at this Mercedes ad. (This car has been relisted again because of ignorant, inexperienced, non-paying Ebayers.) This car has been in my family for many years and has been well taken care of. It has always been adult, non-smoker driven. I am simply selling this car because my father has passed, and we now have many automobiles in our family. Back in the day, this was Mercedes Benz’s top of the line. I have over two hundred (200) additional pictures of this car. Please let me know if you would like me to forward them to you. If you wish, you may also schedule an appointment to view and test drive the car. I would really like the winning bidder to be as familiar with this car as possible. VEHICLE CONDITION: This Mercedes is fully functional; I will try to be as detailed as possible about this car’s features. But I apologize, for I am NOT a mechanic. Some useful sites would be AutoTrader.com or Cars.com. You can even call a Mercedes Benz Dealership Service Department. It used to be a gold metallic color, but was repainted silver. Currently, the paint is a worn and may need repainting (depending on how anal-retentive you are about paint appearance). The engine runs strong and pulls well. It has been recently serviced (oil change, new spark plugs, new ignition wires, etc), and I do have many of its service records. (I have been told the rubber engine mounts need replacing.) The battery is relatively new. The air filter is structurally intact and clean but has a few cracks in it. I cannot appreciate any discernible leaks underneath the car. This car has recently passed California smog and is registered until February 2012. All of the dash board lights are working. The windshield wash system does work, but the sensor probably needs to be replaced (its indicator light remains on, on the dash). The red interior is in great condition, please see the pictures. There are no significant tears in the interior. All of the lighting works in this car: headlights (Silver Star bulbs), taillights, 3rd brake light, all turn signals, all interior lighting, door sills, etc. I think the only malfunctioning light I have found is the passenger side vanity mirror light. All of the seats are working / functional: the driver power-adjustable seat, front passenger power-adjustable seat. Even the rear power seat is totally functional (It reclines!) All seat heaters (front and back) are functioning. The right side power mirror does not work. All of the doors, the hood, and the trunk open and close well. The hood liner / engine insulator was peeled off from under the hood because it was getting worn. The front Mercedes emblem was broken off. All of the power windows and power door locks work. There is a 37.5 cm crack in the front windshield. The stereo was replaced by a Kenwood system (Model KRC-480) which is better and has much more power. It has a cassette player and a 10 CD / disk changer (Model KDC-C602) mounted in the trunk. The system is totally functional and has a detachable faceplate. I think I also upgraded the speakers. The heater does work, but the AC system needs recharging and a service. I did service it a few years ago, changed the hoses, etc. and it was blowing cold. However given the (perfect) San Diego climate, I rarely find the need to use the air conditioner or heater. The cruise control stopped working after the stereo was installed and was probably inadvertently unplugged. The lock to the trunk is totally functional. In the trunk are a full sized spare tire, original car jack, and the tools that came with the car. The original First Aid kit is in the car. There is a broken right sunroof clip preventing it from opening. It is a small part and probably a simple fix; I just never got around to fixing it. The sunroof motor and associated switches do work. The sunroof does not leak. I think the front passenger tire has a slow leak. The tires are in decent condition. The rear shocks are soft. I have 3 functioning keys to the car, and all of the Owner's Manuals. I also have the full Mercedes-Benz Dealer Service / Maintenance Manual on a CD included in this auction. I will continue to drive the car for a bit during this auction. As of today, it has 202450 miles. TERMS OF SALE: Again, this is a NO RESERVE auction. The highest bidder wins this car. This car is being sold as is. I have sincerely done my best to describe this car in detail. Again, please note I am not a mechanic. PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO PAY AND COMPLETE THE SALE. I have the title / pink slip to this car in my name. A non-refundable down payment of $300.00 is due within 48 hours of the end if this auction. The remaining balance must be paid in full within 10 days of the end of the auction. The car will not be released until the entire winning bid has cleared into my account. Winning bidder is fully responsible for the shipment / delivery of this car. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY! If you are a new Ebayer, have less than 10 feedbacks, of have any negative feedback, I ENCOURAGE you to contact me for further communication or else I will probably cancel your bid. I sincerely apologize for this; I’ve had some horrendous encounters with dead-beat Ebayers. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME. GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
