Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a very rare 1932 Studebaker Commander Model 71 ST Regis Brougham 6 Wheel Sedan. It has the 8 Cylinder Motor (9 main bearings) 2 Barrel Stromberg Updraft Carb, 3 Speed Manual Trans and Free Wheeling. The current owner of the car is a well known gentleman in our area that is very popular in the collector car community. He is mainly a mid 30's and early 40's Ford man but has owned many classic, milestone and special interest vehicles in his lifetime. He seems to come across the more original type barn finds and prides himself in getting them road ready. Most of the cars he gets are original unrestored with original petina. This particular car was purchased with a 1938 LaSalle Convertible Sedan out of the same family that owned them for close to 60 years. At the moment he is using this car like a daily driver. He drove it down to my place so I could get some pics of it and give you an accurate discription. The body is in very nice condition, no rust out of any type. There is a very minor crack on the drivers side rear fender where it mounts to the body. There is a small ding on the passenger side head light ring but has another one to replace it. The tire holder passenger side has a crack but can be repaired. The passenger front fender had a very minor repair on the beaded edge. This is all minor things but feel it should be mentioned. The running gear is in really nice shape, runs drives, stops and handles super! There is a minor exhaust leak up front as the front exhaust pipe off the manifold has some perforation. Rest of the exhaust is fine. As you can see everything is original under the hood including the air cleaner, town and country horns and even a self starter still mounted to the cowl. Has the factory iron chrome plated spoked wheels. They would probably clean up to look nicer. Everything is working except for the fuel guage. Windows roll up and down nicely, doors open and close well, have the original trunk mounted on the rear and locks with the key. As you can see the interior is in very nice shape. In all my years of buying and selling antique and classic cars, I have never seen one of these Studebakers in person. From what I understand you could buy 3 regular vehicles for what this one cost in the day. It is a real prestigious looking vehicle that screams of the sophistication of the 1930's. I dont believe there are very many of these cars left in exsistence today. I went online and the only ones I found were hotrodded or museum quality vehicles. This would be a great addition to the Studebaker collector or to anyone who appreciates fine rare automobiles. Clean it up and enjoy it just as it is or restore later to your own personal taste. This is a once in a life time opportunity to purchase a rare car in unmolested condition. We have a current registration that we can transfer over to you with our dealer paperwork should you need to get a title in your state. We reserve the right to end the auction early in case of a local sale. If the car meets the reserve we will let the auction run to the end to be fair to all potential buyers.
