Vehicle Detail
After having some additional work done to the car (details below), I have decided to relist it.Recent work (all work completed by Griffin Motorwerke in Berkeley): A/C R134 conversion New front calipers New coolant bottle Cap, rotor, plugs ignition wires, valve cover gasket, Oil cap and gasket Shift linkage bushings Replaced exhaust hangers Copy of completed repair available upon request.Additional photos available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/63495396@N03/ This 1983 Audi Turbo Quattro Coupe is a gem! The first all-wheel drive rally car that took the rally car circuit by storm! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rtZ08DkGNo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KL0G6D9l6k I have owned this car for 15 years and it is in excellent condition. The car has only 16,000 original miles (no, that is not a typo). Comes with 2 sets of wheels - Original wheels and Euro spec wheels You would be hard pressed to find a car in this condition with such low mileage. I now have a smaller garage and 2 kids so I just don’t have the space or the time to enjoy it. As much as it pains me to sell it, this car should be in the hands of someone who will not only appreciate it, but will drive it (at least occasionally). I have all the history and records, owner’s manual, etc. The car does have a chip (ABT?) Please email me with any questions before bidding. Car is sold in as is condition. You are welcome to come see the car and test drive it if you live in the area. I have put over $7.5k Into the car over the past several years, including new window motors, throttle cable, etc. Terry Griffin at Griffen Motorwerke in Berkeley did all the work. If you know Terry, he does great work. In model year 1983 Audi introduced its newest performance car to the American market. With its innovative Quattro technology, the "Ur" Quattro quickly gained the reputation of being the best balanced sports car of its time. It is undoubtedly the car that revolutionized it all with its original and unsurpassed all wheel drive system coupled with state of the art turbocharged intercooled inline 5 cylinder engine. When they pounce up the heights, they annihilate the quiet. The fastest Open Rally cars are demonically, hideously fast. More than ever you regard performance as a relative thing. If Einstein could see Vatanen and Röhrl apply the sciences of turbocharging and aerodynamics and four-wheel drive, he would clap like a kid and rewrite his theory of relativity to allow for such pluperfect aberrations.” – Larry Griffin on the Ur Quattro
