Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1997 convertible as a RUNNING parts car for a minimum starting bid of $500.00, NO RESERVE. While it runs, it has numerous niggling issues and likely needs a distributor, and I would recommend it as a parts car, or for someone that really likes to work on cars. The Good: Rebuilt transmission at 202K miles (have receipt) New water pump and timing belt New convertible top 2 tires have 80% tread, 2 have 50% tread The Bad: ABS light is on Service light is on: Code reads bad O2 sensor The odometer works when it wants to: it is currently not working; I repaired it 6 months ago by resoldering the instrument panel circuit board but it started failing again: I'll include instructions on resoldering the board if you are up to it, but I'm not doing it again. Clear coat on paint around rear window is starting to flake. The Ugly: The horn quit working and rather than replace the horn pad assembly for $500.00 I put an auxilliary horn in with a button on the dashboard The seat belt retractors had a short and rather than spend the money to replace them I put in lap belts (no functioning shoulder belts) The car hesitates during acceleration; previous experience tells me that it needs a distributor, which is one of the problem areas for this car. SO I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS AS A PARTS CAR ONLY. If you have a Sebring convertible that needs a transmission, water pump, timing belt or roof then this is the car for you. If you have convinced yourself that you can fix all of the problems that I've identified, then knock yourself out, but the car will be sold as is. Thanks for looking. 500.00 down payment due within 24 hours of auction close via Paypal: balance due within 7 days of auction close via certifed bank check or cash. Car will not be released without payment in full and failure to pay balance within 7 days will result in forfeiture of deposit. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction if sold to local buyer
