This Sting Ray brings back the time in which Zora Duntov, Carroll Shelby and Enzo Ferrari battled it out on the race tracks to see who built the fastest car. This 1965 street legal Sting Ray is a true testament to Chevrolets “Americas Sports Car” heritage. Recently finished in a show quality metallic silver paint job with blue race stripe lined in black just like a vintage road race car, wide rear fenders, customized front-end, air dam and Eklers L88 hood. Fresh restoration with a “throwback” feel of the Grand Sport race cars of yesteryear. The best of both worlds...show car and cruiser! This car is reliable sports car, a blast to drive, and starts very time! This ’65 is built right; powered by a date coded Dec 28, 1968 427 Big Block and shifted by a 4 speed transmission, high performance L88 Aluminum heads, high compression pistons, MSD, dual plane intake, plenum with cold air intake system, and an 825 Holley carb. This Big Block is pushing 500 Horsepower!! The exterior has been freshly updated in machine silver with custom interior features such as a Grand Sport inspired dash and instrument cluster. Also has very comfortable Europa seats with race style lap belts. We looked high and low to get the right set of wheels for this car and to our surprise found a set of Vintage US Mags and had them wrapped in a new set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s. The Paint job is less than a year old and is in new like shape with a great sheen and finish ( a paint job of this caliber is $8,000 to $10,000). The custom front emblem has been airbrushed on by Andy Stapp as seen on the recent hit TV show “Car Warriors”. All the fiberglass bodywork was done right when the Corvette was originally customized because before she was painted there were no signs of age or any signs of cracks. I would at some point replace the window felts if you were a perfectionist. The interior looks great, but isn't brand new, the carpets have some fade and minimal wear, not noticeable unless inspecting it. The seats are in great shape. The dash does have some hairline cracks near the radio. I am being pretty picky, I think the pictures show it all on this car. She is powered by a strong big block with casting numbers and date code that show it to be a 427. All lights work, the tach and speedometer along with all the rest of the gauges work, except for the fuel gauge. If have any other specific questions , please don’t hesitate to call 818-398-1829.
