Vehicle Detail

This is an original 1928 Chevrolet truck. My father-in-law has owned it since 1948. Although it hasn't ran since the late '50's or early 60's, it has been stored out of the weather. His intention was to restore the truck, as the bed was redone 25-30 years ago. The body looks very solid, and some minor body work looks to have been done to the drivers front fender. The interior is original. The drive train is also original. It has a 4 cylinder engine mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. I don't know why the truck was parked, but I was able to turn the engine over by using the hand crank. I looked everywhere for some numbers on the truck and all I could come up with were the following: 343571: located on the exhaust manifold 845532: located on the engine block below the exhaust manifold. Because it has 4 wheel brakes the model is an LP. The photos show a late 1928 Chevrolet Series LP 1-ton truck with a 4-speed transmission. Only 1928 Series LP trucks have a square cut front end on the frame rails, and front wheel brakes. All 1-tons had only rear wheel brakes until mid-1928. 4-speed transmissions were optional on earlier trucks, but the only transmission available on the LP. The lever to the right of the transmission knob has to be lifted to move into reverse; this was only on 4-speed transmissions. I was told there should be an ID tag on the side of the passenger seat, but we were unable to locate any type of ID tag. It looks like a VERY solid truck for it's age. Just needs someone to restore it. I've taken quite a few photos to try and give a complete idea of what you're bidding on. If you have any questions just let me know, call : 816-516-6324. *** Also included in the sale are more antique auto parts that we no longer have room for. A set of original wooden Ford wheels and two boxes of misc. antique parts. I'd like to say they are parts for the truck, but I can't say for sure. High bidder is responsible for all details regarding transport and shipping. The vehicle does roll and steer. We are selling our place so this truck HAS to go. We have it advertised in several other places so we reserve the right to end this auction early. Otherwise high bidder takes it. Thanks for looking! Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
