DESCRIPTION:

Our 1989 Mercedes 560SL runs very good and drives very nicely for a car of this age. She may not be pretty to look at on the outside, but inside she looks good and the engine is still running strong. The ride is quiet and comfortable. The car is solid as a rock and feels sure-footed on the road. The tires are like new all around and this Benz goes down the road nicely. The car does have a few mechanical issues including: The hood pad is pretty much gone, the valve cover gaskets are leaking, the exhaust hangers are either already broken or just about to break, the rear main seal is leaking, the transmission pan is leaking, and the car needs a new shifter bushing. The undercarriage is pretty clean in spite of the oil leaks. None of the leaks is bad and you don't smell oil burning when driving. The exhaust is clear so the engine is not smoking or burning oil. There is some oil residue underneath, but nothing that really drips too bad. Other than those mechanical items, this car is solid. There is a slight bit of surface rust on uncoated metal parts on the undercarriage, but it is only surface rust. The frame is solid underneath. The body of this Benz is solid too with no visible rust except in the back bottom corners of the door openings. The rocker panels themselves are solid with no rust. The alloy wheels need to be repainted, but are otherwise in good shape. The chrome trim is dull and the chrome bumpers have several small dents in them, but no rust. The paint on this car is totally gone so plan on doing a repaint. The body is straight and solid though. The hardtop is in very good condition, expecially inside, but the release mechanism needs adjusting so the top is easier to remove. The softop looks practically new and operates great! The interior looks pretty good with only the driver's seat showing any real signs of wear. There is a 1" hole in the driver's seat leather on the seatback. With a little dye work and a good interior cleaning, this car could look very nice inside. The dash top pad has no cracks in it! The wood trim has some cracks in the clearcoat, but its not chipping off. The carpet is a little dirty, but is not torn or ripped. This Benz has the optional rear seat and it looks great. The aftemarket Sony audio sounds great for a small system, the power antenna works, the gauges all work and the car is comfortable inside. The A/C is working, but it is having a hard time getting cold with the 95 degree temps we are experiencing. All in all this Mercedes 560SL looks nice inside and it runs and drive very nice. The paint is bad, but the body is good! There are a few mechanical issues to deal with, but nothing bad. With our low starting bid and a NO RESERVE auction, you are bound to get a good deal on this car so BID NOW and BID OFTEN!

A $285 PROCESSING FEE WILL APPLY TO ALL SALES. Virginia residents must pay Virginia Sales/Titling Tax. Out of state buyers do not pay Virginia Sales/Titling Tax, but are responsible for sales/titling taxes in their home state. Out of Country buyers must pay shipping costs.
