1978 Corvette. I have owned this car for a little better than a year now. I got it for my wife’s sports car itch and turns out she is not a fan of the 4 speed. It is a great car. I own a large collision repair center and have spent my life repairing cars. I have owned almost every make of classic cars from GTOs to Ford trucks. This is NOT a “painted in my garage”; “have to get rid of because my wife wants her carport back” situation. I have a 20,000 sf shop and top notch guys to work on my stuff. I have a small collection of cars and bikes. Truly my wife just does not want to drive a standard. No reason for selling other than that.The PRO’sThe car is a 4 speed! In my case not a plus but in almost every other situation a 4 speed is awesome. (it is a Muncie with a new clutch) Tops (all new weather strips less than a year old)All new buckskin interior (this is the top grain leather kit, not the cheep one)New exhaust (dual chrome tip, from the block back, smooth low sound, not outrageous)Total new paint the paint which is just short of flawless (gel coat, three layers of P-50 primer, and Imron paint – if you don’t know about Imron paint please Google it. It is incredible stuff)Chevy 350 engine (we freshened it up and put a new aluminum Edelbrock performer intake and carburetor on it, it runs great and has smooth torque, good power but still very manageable)My guess is 3:55 gear ratio (whatever it is I like it a good bit, plenty of ability to roll the tires at a take off, but you stay under 3000 RPM at highway speeds, I would drive it at 75 mph all day long, and it is of course a posi-track rear end)New door seals and gaskets all the way aroundVacuum headlight system has been rebuilt and works flawlessly (that is a big deal with these cars, the vacuum systems has to be in good shape or all you will illuminate is the inside of the front bumper)There is more but those are the basics The CON’s There really is not many The passenger side electric window switch is broke. It is just the switch not the motor or anything else. There are no window visors. I a kind of tall and they were blocking my view so I took them out. (I don't have them) The A/C needs charged. It just needs charged that’s all. The motor works and the vent selectors all work. That is about it as far as things wrong with it Happy bidding everybody.
