Vehicle Detail

977 911s 75000 orig. miles …. Bought from 2nd owner who bought it in 1978….this is The last of the “light ones”…1979 911sc engine rebuilt by san diego porsche in the late 90’s and for MLB player Kevin Mitchell. It now has a mere 4000 miles. Built with higher compression SC pistons, pressure fed cam chain tensioners, euro fuel distributer etc.. They basically built it with all updates to bring it current to the technology of the late 90’s.. Mechanic told me the customer wanted a turbo engine, so it was removed shortly after the install, (4000 miles). The 79 large port engine was the best of the sc engines, surviving to 250000 miles in many cases.. This engine cost HUGE money well north of 20 grand to build. NO OIL LEAKS period.... 964 cams were added at the time by san diego porsche.. 230-240 hp.. in a just over 2000 pound car.. Just serviced, with valve adjustment , head retorque etc.. No leaks, perfect compression and you have to see how clean it is to believe it really.. RTV sealant is still visible on the crankcase mating surfaces.Car has zero rust .. CA car..Rebuilt 915 trans, JUNE 09 .. Ottos Venice .. cv joints etc Have 5000.00 bill from that deal..Turbo Tie rod ends Adjustable strut braceSachs Power clutch, clutch cable new just 1000 miles ago.Recent stainless steel exhaust (SSI’s), new dansk mufflerAll bushings in shifter system plus wevo shift coupler done.MSD ignition 6al with rev limiter, tach adapter etc.Carrera Oil cooler in rt fender with aftermarket scoop..Large underbody condenser and complete ac overhaul with r12 and radial compressor. Rare case where the AC works perfectly in one of these but it does.. Added vents under dash help too.. All components including barrier hoses front to back were done and new.. New condenser also on deck lid is of higher capacity and is new. 3000 was spent on AC alone..Everything works period. Orig. 80’s 911 sport seats newly recovered leather, just 8 months ago.. the knobs to move the seats forward have come out, small thing..New momo steering wheel with horn Porsche crest..Great stereo with mp3 and built in hard drive, also cd.. Under hood amp and High end Boston Acoustic speakers front and back..All brakes including new rotors and calipers done 1500 miles agoPaint was done 8 yrs ago, . All rubber was replaced then, and looks fantastic. Some small dings couple scratches on front bumper.. More recently the rubber around the targa top and the sunvisors were replaced with new ones.. (later orig porsche equip) REALLY expensive..Only thing left to do is the targa top recover, and I rarely drive with it, so haven’t messed with it.. Car is always garaged, and aside from the top recover it NEEDS NOTHING…Car has best of everything.. When it needed anything it got the best period.. Really hard to put a price on this car.. I will never get what I have in it back.. Needs nothing and a real early light car with the best of drivetrains.. Runs perfectly and perfectly fast.. When pricing some of the higher mileage cars, try to keep in mind how expensive it is to upgrade them.. 77’s were notorious for pulled head studs and other heat problems and typically need an overhaul within 60,000 miles.. Aside from the engine issue, they were really wonderful cars being the last narrow, light 911’s…. this one with 75’000 orig miles and a 79 sc recently built engine from one of the best shops, with just 4000 miles from new.. Wow… Due to the installation of the SSI stainless exhaust system, this car will not pass California emissions without reinstalling the smog equipment (included) for the 79 engine and all that that requires. A smog certificate is therefore not available so buyer takes responsibility for registration in all cases. Its up to you to check with your state on regulations for a 77 automobile, and or to be able to get the car smogged in CA.. In its current configuration it will not pass in California. Contact me about this with questions etc.. thank you ALSO.. I have video of the car starting and running.. could not figure how to post it here.. if you send me and email, I will send.. On Jun-06-11 at 13:06:35 PDT, seller added the following information: here is video of the car running and starting. http://youtu.be/1cRbgPVAT9cOn Jun-09-11 at 22:12:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I reserve the right to end this auction early... For sale locally, and thank you...
