1989 Jeep Wrangler Laredo 5 Speed Transmission, 4 wheel drive with the 6 cylinder 4.2L motor and the Weber carb conversion. I purchased this jeep in January as it looked prtetty good. Thought I would use it this Summer. There were a couple of spots that turned out to be not so good: There were two spots in the floor that were severely rusted. Also, the structural integrity of the emergency brake was in question. I brought the jeep to my jeep guy and he repaired the floors (really a nice job), also repaired the problem with the emergency brake. My instructions to him were to get it to pass inspection and be a safe driver. He went through everything in addition to the floor and e-brake and it drives very well. The 5 speed is very economical and motor runs quite well. I have a soft top for it with the bow and the roof, however the side windows are not present. It has a halogen headlight system, top lights mounted on a separate cross bar, and two fog lights mounted on the bumper. There are also windshield mounts for a couple of lights or mirrors on the corners of windshield. The front chrome grill overlay looks excellent and the front chrome bumpers is solid, although there are a couple of areas of surface rust that should be sanded off on the top of the bumper. Lots of other chrome including the two rear bumperettes and the spare tire jamb piece. The sound system sounds good and functions properly. The interior is gray including carpeting, door panels and seating as well as padding on roll bar and dash. Overall a pretty nice jeep. There are some areas of surface rust on the body that should be touched up. If you are local and want to have a look, get in touch and I'll be happy to show you the Jeep.
