Vehicle Detail

1934 Ford vintage modified asphalt track car running a built flathead with Ford 3 speed and Buick drums and Frankland quick change rear. This car came out of the Carolinas and has a lot of history behind it. I bought it intending to use the parts to build a traditional hot rod although I think it would be really cool if someone put this car back on the track. The body is a steel 34 Ford tudor. The doors have been welded with a cut out escape on the passenger side. The cowl vent is still there and has been welded shut. For an old race car the body isn't too bad. The lower several inches of the body are gone. The body would be best used on a rat type jalopy where the bottom of the body was channeled or it could be put back straight with a lot of welding. The body is currently just setting on the frame but will be strapped down for transport. I believe the frame is also a 34 unless an early Ford expert tells me differently. It is solid and has been modified for racing. This car sports the famed Ford 59a flathead V8. This engine was built for speed. It has Navarro aluminum heads. Edelbrock intake. Headers. I was told that this engine was running within the last few years but I can't turn it by hand. The transmission is the early Ford 3 speed. Judging by the numbers I believe it is a 1947 transmission. The car has a Frankland quick change rear end-popular in race cars and hot rods. It would look real nice all polished up. On all four corners are the famed Buick 45 fin drum brakes. Again, these would look fantastic on your period hot rod. Since they are already machined for Ford hubs they would be a simple bolt on to your Ford hot rod. The traditional front end has a drilled out front axle. There are other misc. valuable parts such as race gauges, wide five wheels, snouts, etc. No steering column in the car at present although I have what I was told was a Ford F100 steering box that goes with the car. If you're not local then I'll do my best to help assist your transporter. Please email me for any questions.
