Vehicle Detail

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Door HardTop Vintage feel * Ready to Cruise The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air HardTop was considered GM’s upscale version. Being the most coveted over the two-ten and one-fifty’s. It is considered an auto icons and is a staple of American automotive heritage. This car was born a V8 and a Bel Air! Over the years most all HardTop Bel Airs have been restored and customized to the tune of $50,000-$100,000 cars. Not often do you find one that you can hop-in and cruise, for nowhere near some cars asking prices and not worry about a rock-chip. With the black paint and the slotted mags she really has a cool and tough presence and gets thumbs up everywhere she goes!!!!! This is a true California car that was purchased by a 16 year old as his first car. He kept it all these years, even repainting and upholstering it back in the 90’s. I have receipts where it got new tail pipes in 1989 and shocks and bushings back in the 90‘s. This car fits in that new class of nostalgic cruiser, that has a vintage feel but is a good ole driver. The kind that has the rockabilly theme or “American Graffiti” feel, something the fonz would get out of. I purchased this car with the intent of making a One off SEMA Design '57 Chevy, but I am planning a move and dont have time... I have no choice but to sell off some of my collection. This 57 has so much potential, and could be built in many different directions, this is a great opportunity for someone to build their dream car but still use it as a daily driver during the process! Exterior Finished in black it does have chips here and there. It is not fresh paint and was painted quite awhile back and there are a few quarter sized chips at the top of the drivers door where the trim meets the paint. Take a look at the pics, I think they say it all. The chrome bumpers show a fair amount of age but still shine up. The trim is actually is really good shape around the car. Again the pictures really show it. Even the Hard Top window tops even still move up and down with ease and the doors shut like they did when it was new!. Interior Drive as it is for a “vintage rodder” feel. Its an older interior where the carpet should be replaced, the seat reupholstered, etc. But there is nothing stopping you from driving the car as it is. At some point she had a floor shift as there is still a hole there and you could easily put a 4 speed up to a 6 speed back in. Electrical Turn signals, headlights, brake lights all work. In the interior the Fuel gauge and speed both work. Engine/Trans Powered by a 350 V8 and shifted by a Power glide that drives down the street nice. You could easily cruise it around now just the way the car is. Drive her in stop and go or out on a highway, cruises great! Frame/Undercarriage 90% rust free body which is a hard thing for most cars that are over 60 years old to say. And most of the rust we can really comment on was owner inflicted. The drivers and passengers floors have some rust and would be replaced if you were doing a restoration. It is not from road grime or salts it is from leaving the window open. The Frame is excellent as are the supports and the rest of the bottom of the car, which would be hard to say unless it spent most of its life in a salt free Southern California environment. Really nice 57 hardtop that has resided much of its life in Califonria and is in pretty good shape. She isn't all rotten and wavy. Ask away if you have any specific questions...I think if you have been looking for an affordable 57 that isn't a bucket you’ll love this car. It has endless potential but you might want to drive it just the way she sits. Just had her out on a cruise at 70 mph on the highway and she cruises with ease!
