Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Rust-free 1967 Ford Fairlane 500 2 door hardtop. Factory 289, C-4 automatic. Runs and drives and stops, but this car was stored for many years, so it needs some work before being a daily type driver (fluids changed, wheel bearings repacked, brakes bled and adjusted, etc). The data plate shows this as “63B” and is considered the fastback model. It was manufactured at the Kansas City plant. The data plate reads: (BODY)63B (COLOR)T (TRIM)4D (DATE)29L (DSO)74 (AXLE)0 (TRANS)W VIN # 7K35C15XXXX (X’s represent the actual number) The body is exceptionally straight with the exception of minor hood ding and left taillight as shown in the pictures. The pictures make this car look rather bright and shiny. However the paint is thin and totally worn off in places and has the typical old red paint oxidation. In other words, a paint job will be necessary to bring back the beauty. I have found NO RUST in any body panels, floors or trunk area. Most of the chrome and stainless is in usable condition (may need some polishing). The glass is in good condition, no chips or cracks, and the side windows go up and down normally. The drive train is all original (numbers matching) and judging by the condition of all parts, I believe the mileage (74343) is correct. The car starts easily and I have moved it around the yard area. The transmission seems good (goes forward and reverse with no issues). I haven’t driven it on the highway due to the lengthy storage explained earlier. The interior is the problem area. The seat covers are decent with the exception of the drivers area which has a tape repair. All of the interior seems dry and brittle in places due to age. The dash pad is cracked and there is minor surface rust on exposed areas, which will require sanding and repainting. There is minor pitting on the interior chrome (door handles, window cranks, shift and turn signal levers, etc.) Idiot lights appear to work (as best I can tell), turn signals and brake lights work, headlight switch is stuck, so I can’t tell if they work, Wipers work. Dome light, factory AM radio, cigarette lighter, and emergency brake release don’t work. The headliner will need repaired or replaced. I have notarized documentation from the previous owner in lieu of the title. Car must be removed from my premises within 7 days of the auction ending unless prior arrangements are made and shipping arrangements and costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer, although I will be available to assist with loading with some advance notice.
