Vehicle Detail

**Due to the recent birth of my daughter, both the reserve and buy it now prices have been reduced by $500. The sun is out, time to get yourself a cool set of wheels!** Up for sale is my ’77 Honda CB750 Café Racer. I built this bike to be raw, basic, and true to the definition of a café racer. In my mind that means the bare necessities for it to go down the road and be street legal. Side covers? No way! Fenders? Not a chance! Muffler? Get the heck out! A café racer should be sleek , low, loud, and fast. It should also be stone cold reliable. This bike is all of those things and more! I started with a bone stock original ’77 CB750K. I stripped it to the bare frame, sandblasted the frame, and painted it a nice durable semi-gloss black. The motor was stripped, cleaned, and painted the very best VHT black engine paint available. The valve cover was sanded and polished, and the motor was topped off with a stainless steel allen bolt kit. The steering head bearings were cleaned and repacked. The forks were completely rebuilt and the ends polished. The front brake caliper was rebuilt and new pads installed. The master cylinder is a brand new FZR unit with an angled reservoir so you don’t dump fluid all over the tank when you check it. The headlight is converted to a halogen H4 setup, that is as bright as a freight train’s light. The gauges have custom faces made by me and are one of a kind. The fiberglass tail section has an integrated LED tail light and is hinged at the front to allow access to the battery. The battery box is custom made and holds a Tru Gel battery mounted horizontally. No maintenance, no hassel starting! The electrical system is upgraded to a solid state regulator/rectifier, so no worries of unexpected meltdowns. The bike sports clubman bars (of course!), and Raask rearsets. It has a new chain and sprocket set and new tires. It also has CB900F external reservoir rear shocks that make it ride and handle great. The tank emblems were removed and filled and the tank, headlight and tail are painted base/clear black. The chrome on the wheels is very good with some minor blemishes on the rear that aren’t very noticeable unless you are looking for it. The chrome on the gauges is very good with a couple of minor pits. The 4 into 1 header is painted high temp black and has a baffled tip that just slightly takes the edge off the open header sound. Make no mistake, it’s loud and proud! The carbs are jetted to match the APE filters at my altitude. The jetting is spot on. The bike starts easily at 0 degrees or 100 degrees, and will catch faster than your buddy’s new fuel injected plastic fantastic sport bike. 30 seconds on choke and you’re ready to ride! Now, the big questions: Is it reliable? Is it comfortable? Well, those are easy questions. I’m 6’4” 240lbs and 36 years old. I rode this bike 350 miles to the Rockerbox Motorcycle Show in Milwaukee last summer. One day up, one day back. We ran 70-80mph and even got stuck for 2 hrs in Chicago traffic with the bikes idling the entire time. This bike never missed a beat and pulled 45 to 48 mpg. I felt fine after the trip, and found the riding position quite comfortable. Be warned though, this bike is a man’s bike no sissys need apply! Title free and clear and in my name. $500 down when the auction ends, balance in cash when you pick up the bike. I will ship anywhere in the continental U.S. using HaulBikes dot com. If you want it shipped, I will quote the full price for shipping and require it in full along with the full auction price before the bike leaves my door. Questions encouraged! Jason
