Up for auction is my baby vw beetle. This is absolutely the best driving and running beetle ever. I am not a mechanic but will try to answer any and all questions that you may have. The Good: Runs great, shifts great. looks great. New tires. New plugs and wires. New floor mats. All glass is good. Spare tire good. VW tools included. 1974 vw owners manual included but not the one that came with the car. Clear title in hand. pans are good. HEAT WORKS perfect. Fan works perfect. All lights and lenses are good. Horn is brand new. Carb been cleaned. Front end is tight. New gas copper line. Defrost even works at its own speed and on its schedule. The bad: Door handle on the passengers side will not open from the outside of the car, rear main seal needs replaced ( leaks oil here and there), and the paint needs buffing. We sent my middle son out to wash it and he washed it with some form of rough sponge and it surface scratched the paint. Also the two areas behind the rear windows have surface paint bubbling and needs sanded and painted. There are other minor scratches and nicks on car. Also there is a small dent in the right side of the hood that is hard to tell. Body shop beat it out with a rubber hammer. Back seat has small torn place, and drivers seat is worn around the sewn parts of the upper seat part. Dash has one crack above the speedometer. Emergency brake needs adjustment. Sometimes a gas smell when going around a sharp curve. Overall, this car gets alot of attention. I dont know how far away from being a show car but probably close if the things above were to be fixed. I am unsure about the miles of the car. car reads 67600 so we guessed 167600. I dont want to sell the car but we are making an extended summer trip this summer and need to sell it rather than let it sit here and waste away. I WOULD drive this car across the country. Great beetle at a great starting price. Please only serious bidders with money in hand. Deposit of $500 required as soon as auction ends.
