Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This sweet little car is a 1988 Chevy Nova (mechanically the same as a Toyota Corolla – it was the predecessor to the Geo Prizm, also a Corolla twin). It was owned for most of its life by an older couple, who bought it new, always garaged it and drove it very little! When you open the doors you’ll feel like you’re in a time capsule – the interior looks almost brand new. This is a nimble little car, cute and fun to drive, in VERY, VERY good condition inside and out. Excellent mechanical condition, starts, runs and drives great, very reliable, lots of new parts. See below for details. THE GOOD: - Great body, 9/10. Always garaged, original paint in excellent condition, not oxidized at all. No accidents ever. The only flaw is a small ding on the right front fender where a skateboarder ran into the car. - Great interior, 9/10 – seats (cloth) and dash are in near-perfect condition. No rips, tears, stains, or even signs of wear at all! (Just a tiny bit of fading on the dash.) Very clean. - Runs great. Engine and automatic transmission are strong. Smooth and quiet. Just did a compression test on the engine – all four cylinders are at 150! - In the last few months I have done $1200+ worth of work. NEW timing belt. NEW front tires (back tires are fine.) NEW fuel pump and filter. NEW tuneup. NEW carburetor. NEW alternator. NEW master cylinder and front brakes. All of the above was done by my mobile mechanic so I do not have shop receipts, but you are welcome to inspect the parts and/or talk with him directly. - Great gas mileage (some reviewers say it gets up to 40 mpg on the highway if you drive it under 65 mph.) Officially rated at 33 mpg highway, 29 combined city and highway. - Just passed California smog test on April 11, so CA buyers will not need t o re-smog. - CA Registration good til March 2012. - Heat works great. - Reliable little car that should last to 300K with no problem. Toyota quality!- All windows and doors operate great. Manual windows, but power doorlocks. THE BAD: - Small ding on body mentioned above, from skateboarder hitting the car (apart from that it has never been in an accident.) - Fabric headliner is coming loose (I have taped it up.) - Car has factory A/C but it is not currently blowing cold. I bought this car as a transitional car while looking for something else, and ended up putting a lot of money into it! Now I’m looking for the right buyer to truly appreciate its charms. I am losing money on it by selling now – my loss, your gain!
