OK, a little history here. I bought this car a year ago from a gentleman in Napa, CA. He had died of cancer and this was his pride and joy. There were no history records in the car, so to be on the safe side, it was scheduled for TB/WP R&R and… I then learned from industry experts that the GTS’s came with very conservative intake and exhaust cams. The GT cams that came in the 928 GT’s have the best performance numbers, as far as cam’s go…. So if I wanted to bring the GTS into the 21st century, then several things would need to happen. I needed to upgrade the cams and have installed a few other items that would work in conjunction with the new cams. While this work was being done, basically I wanted anything that was close to showing signs of wear, to be replaced… A GTS’s health is not to be taken lightly. Being that there is arguably 300 of these made this year, only a fraction of which were 5 speeds, and knowing that this car has a clean bill of health from CARFAX, I didn’t want to take any shortcuts; because this car is a collector. Car runs and drives like new. I drove it from CA to my residence in UT without the car missing a beat. I have put a few thousand miles on it here and it brings smiles… not many 928’s in UT, so I think people must wonder about what kind of Porsche this is… The GTS shifts smoothly and tracks straight. To date I have spent more than $10,000 in safe-side maintenance. All of the work has been done at Motorsports in SLC. If you do a Google search on them, the owners there are well respected in the motorsport world and have contributed immensely to the 928 community in general. Not to mention, they have several 928 GTS’s in their possession. It’s quite impressive… and if you want a set of trusted hands working on a rare car, you would (like me) require experience and resume’ of expertise. They also did the dyno tuning for cams and chip set. Here is a list of new items. · Elgin grind GT cams / www.elgincams.com · New AC pump · Spark plugs · Rotors and caps · Ignition wires · Cam chains · Cam gears · Cam seals · Battery · Oil pump o ring · Oil pump radial seal · Water pump · 175* thermostat · Front main seal · Motor mounts · Oil pan gasket · Intake flappy actuator · Clutch arm cup · Clutch slave · Lightweight lifters · Cam plugs, seals, gaskets · Vacuum lines and connectors · Cylinder head gasket kit · Porken tensioner for timing belt / www.928srus.com · Timing belt · Shark tuner PEM / www.928srus.com · Rear sway bar end link · Clutch flush · Anti freeze flush · New engine belts, alt, PS, AC etc · New clutch line · Powder coated Manifold · Powder coated valve covers · Flush PSD system It has the original window sticker (see picture). Paint is ok… I’d day am 8 out of 10… but that is a very arbitrary number. Being that I don’t know of any true gauge. There are several chips, from small rocks on splash part of fenders. Looks like at some point in the cars past, the exhaust may have hit the rear bumper (see pic)… also the front chin has the clear coat slowly flaking off. So if I were to keep the car, I’d have the lower front valance painted, fix chip on wing etc. So in general, the paint for 100k miles is nice, but has flaws. The interior is in good shape as well. The seats have small signs of wear as you can see in the pics. Carpet is clean, no stains, just typical wear from getting in and out. Car runs nice and cool and oil pressure is where it should be. I also did a Black Stone oil report www.blackstone-labs.com/. The report came back perfectly clear with no signs of internal engine wear. I would be happy to send you a copy of this report if you send me an email. I will also be happy to send copy of the receipts on maintenance. Dash has a small crack (see pic). 2 wheels are perfect, 2 have a few small scratches. Feel free to call me to discuss. 801-358-5445 Wayne. Waynes@email.com The car is great, not without its flaws on normal wear and tear… but with all the mechanical work recently done, the car purrs like a kitten and is much faster than a 2000 911… (Yes I know this for a fact). Feel free to buy and drive it across the country, no problem!
