After searching for the last two years for a RUST FREE 123 chassis, and I assure you this is one of the finest example of the classic turbo Diesel sedan you can find, I stumbled upon this beauty. The car without a shadow of a doubt has an impeccable service history, stunning cosmetics and uncompromised performance. Averaging 30 MPG!!! The 1985 Model Year was the last and is the BEST year for the 123 Chassis. At the risk of sounding too hyped, I must say that this car runs, drives and performs like a new car and I have driven dozens of these with even lower miles. The Key to a car this age performing like I am describing is Service and Maintenance. Just look at the list of recent service history that assures a conscious effort to maintain this car to the highest standards of excellence. All maintenance is up to date, and countless items repaired which unlike many other cars posted here, is all documented. The car currently has 207,000 miles on it, and is ready for another 200,000. Functional climate control w/new A/C compressor, new brakes, replaced suspension components, new tires, oil cooler lines, recent valve adjustment and shut off valve replacement, recent transmission adjustment and service, the list goes on and on. As you can see in the many high Resolution Pics, the body, paint and interior are in like new condition. The car starts well in very cold weather, purrs like a kitten at idle when and the turbo spools up, it moves out like a jack rabbit. All that said one of my pet peeves with these classic Mercedes cars is the transmission. These cars can have very clunky and hard shifting transmissions. However, this car is one of the smoothest, most silky shifting cars that I have ever driven. Take Note that I would not hesitate to drive this car across country. In fact the previous owner has documented numerous trips to Texas, Vail, Vegas, Southern California, New Orleans and Central Florida. This is a GREAT car with a GREAT history and will provide many more fun miles ahead... Guaranteed to be one of the most memorable cars you have ever owned. So the question is why after searching do long for a car like this am I selling it.. two words "The Wife". I love to drive the car but unfortunately my beautiful wife likes more modern cars so...
