I bought this "Rat" bike as a project and find that I now have no time to finish it. Based on a 1988 R100RT, this little bar-hopper will make someone a nice play pretty one day. Sadly, that person won’t be me. The tank has a quarter sized dent on the right and needs a paint job but is otherwise sound. The rear shock needs replacing and the carbs need going through and cleaned. She will start, idle and run but bogs down at half throttle. Tires are in good shape. The seat is a Harley D. Police seat and the two times I've had it out on the road the bike was very nimble and comfortable to ride. The air-box has been replaced with “pod” filters although the right boot is taped and needs replacing. Both header pipes have dents and the “shorty” exhaust pipes sound good but aren’t as loud as you might think. This bike has so much potential and a person could take it in several different directions without much trouble. Actual milage is not known since the odometer has not been hooked up for some time nor do I know when it last was in operation. It comes with the instrument pod although I can’t swear to it’s functionality since I’ve never hooked it up. The transmission shifts easily, the brakes work as they should and the battery holds a charge. I have the title in hand and will even throw in a used Clymer repair manual in decent condition. This is no "show bike" and I've tried to list all the major issues with it so please read carefully and feel free to ask any questions before you bid. The bike will be sold "as is" with no warranty and no return. The winning bidder is responsible for pickup at my home near Henry TN. and a $500.00 dollar deposit is required within 3 days of the end of the auction.
