Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a car my son was driving when he struck a deer. The deer crunched the hood and bumper, but then was thrown over top of car. This is the reason for the black primered hood and black bumper missing the side marker lights. The only damage the deer caused was to the plastic intake manifold, power steering pump, battery holder and radiator with the cowl. All of these items were repalced including thermostat, belts, intake air filter. The plugs and wires were also replaced. Car really runs good, as good as it did before the deer incident. Front tires were recently replaced as a set and back tires are still very good. Rear brake drums were replaced recently along with the entire clutch system, shift bushings and upper control arm bushing on the passinger side. The only current known issues are a squeeking noise coming from what sounds like a rear left strut. Guages at left of steering wheel work, but have been disconnected. (Oil Pressure, RPM and Voltage)There is a leak in the rack and pinion we were informed of, so power steering fluid will slowly leak out. There is the need to replace the front left wheel hub bearing. This was something it has needed even prior to the deer.. The batery light stays on, though we had baterry tested and all is as it should be. The engine light is on, but we are thinking it was due to replacing the air filter from the original where a wire that use to be on the original had no where to plug into the new one. Not sure whay exactly, just a hunch. AC does not work, but probably only needs the aluminum lines replaced. After the deer, we just plugged up the compressor openings and did not repair the AC. Cruise works. We bought an OEM replacement radiator fan for this car but never installed it. So, as a result, if you set idling for a lengthy period of time it may slightly overheat. Hood does not have a support bar. The car should drive anywhere but remember there is still the power steering leak to contend with. Steareo is after market with AM/FM CD with .mp3 hook-up. All guages and lights function. No rust. A few dings and a couple of bare spots where paint has chipped off. Car is tight and runs down the road nicely for a car with these miles. Car has been serviced regularly as I was teaching my son how to change oil, plugs, etc. Obviously the hood and front bumpers are only primed and should be painted. Water pump and timing belt was also replaced on this car professionally. All work has been done by reputable shops in town, we are not shade-tree mechanics. With the fixing of the TLC items, someone should be able to get tons more use out of this car. The interior really looks good all the way around. Sun roof does not work and never has since we obtained the car. All doors and windows are manual and nothing fancy there. Obviously I am trying to divulge any and everything I can about this car so you can plan your investment. It is sold AS IS. Any questions, please email me. Good luck.
