Not only is this 1947 Chrysler an original California car, it is unmolested in its original condition. It is a 4 door with the suicide rear doors which is very rare and cool. This is just like the car Ms. Daisy backed into the pond in the first scenes of Driving Ms Daisy so it has some Hollywood in it. It doesn’t run but the original inline Spitfire 250 cubic inch Flathead 6 cylinder engine turns over by hand. The original Fluid Drive Transmission, rear end and wheels are still under this car. It has all of its original accessories still attached to the engine. The front and rear seats are like sofas and are very comfortable. This Chrysler will be an excellent and easy restoration project. Built on the same chassis as the Town & Country and New Yorker, this Windsor is further distinguished by the colorful and wonderful Highlander option. The Highlander featured a luxurious plaid cloth interior and special bagging which is all original in this car. The Highlander interior made the already luxurious Windsor even more so. Its wheel base is 120 inches. From the firewall ID tag its spec's are: Model # 382, Body # 5, Paint # 16, Trim # 23 and Body # 441805. I has a couple other numbers lower on the tag of 260 and 192 that I am not sure what they mean. The engine has the VIN # stamped on the block - C3864920. The original paint was Maroon. I find only surface rust. It has dual heaters, the original radio, controls, clock and beautiful dash panel. It has the original beauty rings with the small hub caps as can be seen it the drive side picture on the rear tire which is how original this car has remained. This vehicle is sold as is, where is.
