NOT REALLY SURE ABOUT OTHER PARTS OF DRIVETRAIN. THE 383 SEEMS TO BE A VERY STOCK SOUNDING MOTOR. FIRES UP STRONG AND RUNS OUT GREAT. THIS CAR IS NOT ALL CAMED OUT OR ANYTHING CRAZY. IT IS A VERY DRIVABLE STOCK SOUNDING AND DRIVING MOTOR. AS YOU CAN SEE THE INTAKE HAS BEEN CHANGED AT SOME POINT. THE AUTO TRANSMISSION MAKES THIS A GREAT CRUISER. VERY EASY TO DRIVE AND HANDLE. A NEW POWER STEERING PUMP HAS JUST BEEN INSTALLED- IT WORKS PERFECT!!!! VERY EASY TO TURN. COULD NOT FIND A DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR THE OLD ONE SO HAD TO MODIFY IT A LITTLE WITH NEW PULLY/BELT. I DO HAVE THE OLD PUMP THAT COMES WITH THE CAR IF YOU WISH TO HAVE THAT ONE REBUILT. THE BRAKES ARE MANAUL DRUM. TO MY SURPRISE THEY STOP VERY WELL, STRAIGHT AND STRONG. THE EXHAUST IS NEW AND COMPLEMENTS THE ENGINE NICELY. ONCE AGAIN DOES NOT SOUND OBNOXIOUS. THE FUEL TANK IS BRAND NEW!!! THE SPEEDO CABLE IS BRAND NEW!!! - YES SPEEDO WORKS NICELY!!! THE FUEL GAUGE AND TEMP GAUGE DO NOT WORK. I THOUGHT I'D LEAVE AFTERMARKET GAUGES UP TO THE NEW OWNER. A NEW SOUND SYSTEM WOULD MAKE FOR SOME BETTER TUNES!! ALL LIGHTS HAVE BEEN GONE OVER AND WORK AS THEY SHOULD. WIPERS AND WASHER NOT WORKING/ HOOKED UP. THE CAR IS A WAY ABOVE AVERAGE DRIVER CAR. I'M SURE YOU CAN TAKE IT TO ALMOST ANY LOCAL SHOW AND BE THE STAR. IT STOPS TRAFFIC WHEREVER YOU ARE!!! IT IS AN OLDER RESTORATION THAT IS GREAT!!
