THE SERIAL NUMBER IS 21260240 WHICH MAKES IT A 1972. IT DOES HAVE SURFACE RUST ON SOME OF THE METAL BUT APPEARS TO BE JUST THAT. I AM PRETTY CERTAIN MOST WILL COME OFF WITH FINE STEEL WOOL. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS E-MAILED WITH THEIR KNOWLEDGE ON THIS BIKE. I GUESS I DIDNT REALIZE JUST HOW POPULAR THEY WERE.
